    Apple is making a profit through the software upgrade from iTouch users which are non-subscription based in revenue. 2.0 software was delayed as it was an essential update to support applications from SDK developers. If Apple were to completely charge for the updates, then it would undermine the Application store.

    Don't forget about the more stricter ebay and paypal policies. The fundamentals are broken for this company. They collect easy money, yet the [former] CEO didn't allocate proper resources for some half decent coders. The website is circa 2004, what a POS. I don't understand how Meg Whitman is getting praised on some media outlets. It was a dot-com company doomed from the start. It is destined to be overtaken by another well structured development. Perhaps google.

    Didn't the latest quarter conference call state that Apple wanted to steer from focus on netbooks? But they are watching. I believe Steve mentioned that the iPhone was a competitor to it's a "mobile computer" already. Macbooks delivers 30% margins as well as other products. Can netbooks deliver 30% magins for Apple? It'll put Apple in the lower end of their image.

    Verizon is constrained on capacity for DSL infrastructure. They do not offer above 3Mbps and 1.5Mbps is the norm. I am speculating in a few years, Verizon will sell their whole stake of Verizon Wirelss to Vodaphone. Telco companies need a narrow-minded one-way vision in their corporate mindset. Can't do too many things at once.

    FTTH is an opportunity for Verizon as the technology is one step ahead of Comcast. The sale of VZW will keep VZ financially ahead.

    The firms giving courtesy for XM/Sirius because they were paid for the M&A deal. Over hyped media at 1.50 Billion shares is what keep this company afloat by retail "investors". Look at the institutional ownership. Cash machine for the banks and hedge funds.
