  • Cash For Clunkers Datapoint of the Day [View article]
Come on, 67% of the 3 billion dollars was use to purchase commuter high mileage vehicles. The program more than exceeded it's stated goal to help stimulate the economy and as you avoid in your article move old inefficient cars off the road. People took advantage of the program just as planned, stagnant inventory was moved off the dealers lots in mass. The ripple effect will be felt in the industry for at least a year. As for the pickup truck issue you choose to use as a political statement. Hello, some people work in jobs or have life styles that require a large vehicle to move stuff in the bed of the truck. Please! What do you think a family of 6 would drive that gets 40 miles to the gallon?

  • America Does Not Produce Nothing [View article]
"Only 9% of private sector jobs are in manufacturing."

Imagine if Americans would be willing to pay a little more for their goods and raise the private sector manufacturing Jobs to 15%. The trade deficit could be statistically reduced and we would add jobs for the very people one of the previous post refer to as parasites. (he probably drives a Lexus) Buy New Balance tennis shoes, buy Vizio TV's, buy American made cars. Keep the manufacturing jobs in the US. In 5 years will the US be 10th in the manufacturing pie diagram? We can turn this around but not if we keep buying billions of foreign goods.

  • Obama Is Wrong to Impose Punitive Tariffs on Chinese-Made Tires [View article]
I support any move to keep the US manufacturing sector alive. Global trade keeps large corporations fat and happy but were does it leave our blue collar workers? Job less! Ok, yes, our Government needs to follow the trade rules so China does not pull our dept pacifier but the citizens of the US do not. US consumers buying the lowest possible cost product is killing our work force little by little. China has 100 million manufacturing jobs at the expense of ours. Another little fact, Chinese people don't have the option to buy our foreign goods, the Chinese Government makes of sure that with a much greater emphasis now that the US consumer is down and lets hope not out! People, your kids and grand kids are not going to have jobs. Pay a little more and do your best to buy good manufactured in the US! We buy enought foieign goods to keep the global economy going make the choice now before it's too late.

  • How PHEVs and EVs Will Sabotage America's Drive for Energy Independence [View article]
Hack job article. I don't care if you could build 50 Priuses with the batteries use on the Volt. I am buying American manufacturing, cutting edge technology and GEM is leading the industry. With my driving patterns I basically will never stop at the gas station except to recycle my gas because it's gone bad after 6 months.

As the electrical infrastructure is built out and employers build solar parking structures for their employees the masses will never stop at a gas station.

    What am I missing ?

"saboteurs that will undermine America's drive for energy independence while stridently claiming to be part of the solution?. Look in the mirror.............

  • Wal-Mart and Offering Employees 'Strategic' Healthcare [View article]
China's manufacturing engine support over 100 million jobs for their people. China's economy is one third the size of the USA. China holds over a trillion dollars of the USA debt.

Wall Mart requires their suppliers to base their supply chain in China. It's quite frighting to think were the USA will be in 20 years.

  • California Looking at Massive Budget Cuts [View article]
Off shore drilling and oil royalties are and immediate solution to much of the budget shortfalls. Use the same funding to develop the green infrastructure once the deficits have been eliminated.

  • California: More than Just Economic Problems (Plus Some Potential Solutions) [View article]
What a great creative solution to California's budget issues. Don't raise taxes, instead lease off shore oil rights. Use the royalties from the oil to build the green infrastructure. If the greenies really look at this solution how can they go wrong. Once you have the green infrastructure built-out shut down the use of oil for transportation or tax the hell out of it. Play with devil oil to get eco-nirvana.

Really, this guys got it right.
