  • Southwest Airlines broadens deal with Amadeus [View news story]
Prices have a long way to go to get back to square one. The 20% which you refer to is from the bottom. They are down about 50% from a $100.00 a barrel (which some refer as the top,,,,,,,,,,,I think I once we saw $108.00 for WTI). If this is the wrong way to look at this Tom, let us know. In addition, we are still below $2.00 per gallon for reg. throughout Texas. Sorry for the oilfield workers (many of which are friends), but they have had a great ride in high wages, bonuses, as well as handsome packages in take takeovers for several decades. Enjoy this while it lasts.

  • Bank Of America: Investors Are Irrationally Optimistic On Its Valuation [View article]
The only thing in recent years that I have seen BAC do REALLY well to the tune of about 70 B + . Hopefully we will see better performance within the near term. Nice article but rather an eye opener. Will hang long for a while but haven't yet fig. the tax angle on my 40% return over these past years.

  • Break Up Bank Of America? Better The Devil You Know Than The One You Don't [View article]
If results are good for the share holder, wouldn't that be good for the Country? A breakup of "Too Big To Fail" would tie the hands of the larger financials in global markets. HA83, your expression is simple, and it pretty well says it all.

  • Look For Shares Of Southwest Airlines To Continue To Gain Altitude [View article]
Nice presentation. I regard fuel the advantage to be long term (12 months?+) and favorable to all the industry. As fuel costs regain there positions, I believe LUV to remain a strong contender regarding it's position within the Sector. Long on LUV.

  • Pabrai still bullish on BofA and Citi [View news story]
I fell that all these issues which you have referred to over recent years, funfun, have been resolved to the tune of about 80 billion dollars, (mostly with respect to CountryWide). Isn't it about time for you to throw in the towel? Just curious, but have you ever been a shareholder of BAC? Thanks for answering. HF

  • Bank Of America: An Investment That Cannot Lose, Maybe [View article]
Just open a checking acct with BAC to see how bad BAC really were in dealing with the public. Might want to try this instead of just talking about it. Needless to say, I found them very polite, informative, professional, and a pleasure to do business with. No problem here. Still long and now am a very satisfied customer of BAC. Try it -- you might be in for a very satisfactory experience.

  • Bank Of America: Stage Set For Substantial Upside [View article]
Seems like we have been around the block (several times) with every article published during the last four to five years. However, I am not jumping off the ship now. Fun Fun seems to fail in calculating the 5% return during that period. He quoted the price as of today at $16.10 in one comment and then at $16.07 in another. To recalculate as of now, the "five" year return comes out as 7% as of 12:31 CST. Not bad for the wait. With all the c**p finally behind us, why would anyone throw in the towel now? Some propose high 20's in 15, or even in the 30's. Much of this is wishful thinking with not a lot to back it up. I do believe our time is near, and after all of the hundreds of articles, written and read, with all the great pros and con comments, why would anyone jump ship. Good luck to Fun Fun and his followers. I hope they are good swimmers.

  • Update: Bank Of America Earnings - Net Interest Income Continued To Fall; Definitely Worrying [View article]
Both the legal guys and the DOJ are reaping all the rewards at this time. Funny how this has been snowballing for years. I do not believe BAC or even the Sector was not that far out of bounds. In Texas, the rule is "let the buyer beware". It's easy to point fingers while you are reaping the benefits, but I feel we need to refocus and re-evaluate our thinking of the past six or eight years and see exactly how far out of bounds the financials really were. I truly believe that we are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and it is not a train. It is becoming quite obvious that the DOJ has done about everything imaginable in milking the financials and that everyone has developed a sickening feeling and some embarrassment over the actions of the DOJ as well as the tremendous legal fees associated within the financial environment witnessed during that time. Enough said. Still long and intend to stay that way for a while.
