  • 6 Reasons Why The iPhone Will Soon Have Processors Built By Intel [View article]
Jim your reasons make perfect sense. I do not believe Intel would manufacture A series chips, however, I do believe that if Intel's latest products have significant advantages and they are expected to maintain these advantages in the coming years, Apple will make the switch. Apple has to have the best product in the market so it they have invested heavily in ARM design development it will likely be worth abandoning it. Again, Intel's product will have to have a significant advantage otherwise it won't happen. I am long Apple & Intel.

  • Apple: Tim Cook Heads To Washington To Talk Taxes [View article]
He is nobody? He's the CEO of the company that pays the highest corporate income tax in the United States. If anyone has the right to have such discussions with Congress it is Tim Cook.

  • Apple (AAPL -2.5%) has dived over the last 30 minutes of trading on heavy volume, without any news to explain the move. The decline comes with the NASDAQ still up 0.5% on the day. [View news story]
Do you know what a long position means? It means a long term holding. If it the stock drops the company buys back the stock cheaper which is better for a long term investor opposed to buying back at higher prices. I was obviously being sarcastic but I guess you were not able to pick-up on that. Playing the market means he company is timing product releases strategically and creating doubt in order to buy back stock at cheaper prices. Good luck with your "different investing outlook".

I am long and over-weight Apple. I hope the stock crashes in the current quarter. It would be great if the stock would drop below 400 again. I am surprised that anyone would short the stock but if it goes down it is both good for them and good for myself. Apple is playing the market and it is a bit comical if you ask me, however, I am biased.

  • Historical Probabilities And Community Sentiment Regarding Apple's Earnings Announcement [View article]
My suggestion for Apple is to play chicken with investors. It goes like this. "We are announcing a buy back plan valued at 30 billion dollars...we have the option to buy back shares at our discretion over a two year period." This puts a floor on the stock and starts a rally. If it is not successful at creating a floor then they go ahead and buy back shares. I am a long term investor in Apple and my preference would be a buy back now that the stock is trading at an extreme discount. PS i think Tim Cook is a great CEO. Probably the best out there. It may not be evident now but those that believe this will be rewarded. It doesn't matter if he is not the inventor that Steve Job's was because that's what they pay the engineers, product designers and developers for. I think the decline in Apple largely has to do with a lack of confidence in Cook, but when that changes we will see the first 1 trillion dollar company. Yes, Apple will be the first 1 trillion dollar company the world has ever seen. Good luck tomorrow Apple Bulls.

I disagree with you. Apple will be well over $1000/share in 2-3 years. Google will trading the range you noted.

The dividend increase would be paid with future cash flow. They can still execute a significant buy back before the announce the div. increase.

  • Apple: Already (Essentially) A Private Company [View article]
I don't agree with this article. It may appear that Apple is not operating with shareholder interest in mind, but it's not true. Apple knows what they are doing and that is clear to me. The upsetting part is that I did not get the memo and and I'm taking a beating. I'm at a point where I want to buy more shares but I'm afraid becasue the bet is getting too big. The trend is now Apple's friend and it is also the friend of those shareholder that will hold on during this period. What I find surprising is how short term people think. I respect the fact that management is taking time to do things right and executing strategies. This is what makes Apple a briliant company and this is why I am long Apple.

  • Why Apple Is A Short-Term Sell Based On David Einhorn's Plan [View article]
If an investor is loaded up with calls then they are looking for the company to execute this ipref's idea. ipref's would be the most effective way to get an immediate bounce in the stock price. I don't believe Apple will take this approach. I feel that they will raise the dividend anually and increase the buyback program (maybe some big initial buybacks while the stock is sub 500). I personally would like to see a stock split becasue I think it will drive demand for shares from investors that wouldn't otherwise buy stocks with high share prices.

  • Cirrus Logic: A Great Place For Apple To Invest Some Cash [View article]
Maybe Apple should purchase a 49% stake as an investment this way they don't have to worry about managing the company but would still get the benefits of the relationship. On another note, if Apple was looking to invest in a company they could buy there own stock. Apple is just a big mystery and this is the fundamental reason why investors have lost faith.
