Well thought out, good comments. Some of Grewal's comments will probably have to be judged by a "wait and see" type process. Regardless, in total, the Brocade rationale/strategy re: Foundry seems sound and the potential compelling.

Idle thought: who cares if this may be a partially defensive move??? History is resplendent with "defensive moves" that created enormous value to shareholders and the company making the move. I believe the acquisition of Foundry will provide the best of both worlds for Brocade: it will be an enormous boost to their market presence and depth of offerings; it will also be an excellent tool to mitigate their weaknesses. In my book, this is exactly the type scenario that wil add maximum leverage/advantages to Brocade as a result.
