  • J.C. Penney: What To Do After Today's Massacre [View article]
Sears and JCP customers correlate in several ways. I don't ever want to see a company fail, it is lousy for many reasons. But I can't change that.

Sears business is melting like a snow ball in July, and many of those folks will migrate to JCP. It this going to be slow, I believe so.

I listened to entire call last night and came away impressed with how it was handled, thinking this guys know what they are doing. I also think they are being very conservative with their guidance.

I am long JCP, for the fifth time now, it has been very rewarding.

  • Where Will Twitter Be At The End Of 2015? [View article]
Based on the comments here, perhaps they funded and didn't sell, hence no trade. Everyone knows it is going back to $37 where all of this started.

FUND MGR: I am by no means a Cramer fan, but he was hot this stock long before you suggest. From your comments, I am thinking you are either short or soon to be?

  • Twitter +6.6%; Q4 ad growth strong, MAUs at 288M [View news story]
I downloaded Tweet Deck to my PC, I am actively on the financial news about 8 hours per day.

I now spend about 80% less time on Bloomberg TV and much less time going to websites.

What I am not sure of, since I don't tweet, is if I am even considered a user?

    It is great.

    Cate,

If I were short, which I have been many times, I would have hit the BTC button a while back.

  • BlackBerry: Digital Money Transfer, Not Advertising Is BBM's Best Hope [View article]
    Eldon,

While I didn't work directly handling the product, put away, cross-docking, etc. I have been in many a meeting, heard the stories, and walked the warehouses.

Thanks for the first hand info. I suppose I could name some names, but even retired, NDA's don't have a sell by date.

Many of you may know about this so this for others would didn't notice it, or glanced without much regard.

This isn't sexy like a new FB update, or whatever, but having spent many, many years in the supply chain, I can see where this could be huge. Billions are spent every year tracking stuff and it is a nerve racking and intense endeavor. Think about a container full of $1,000 Gucci purses as an example.

Making the collection of this data secure, more efficient, more reliable, faster and with greater info, is well,,,,,,,,,,,,pricel... sort of

  • BlackBerry sits out rally after Wells Fargo cuts estimates [View news story]
I have seen this happen enough to know it is not just my imagination. Only when there is significant news about BB's progress do these guys show up. The timing is more than coincidental.

More to the point, the purpose (at least in theory) is for these experts to provide guidance for investors so they might be better advised as to where to put their hard earned money. At least that is what I was taught. The problem is that situation is many headed. Um, (um, pun intended) knowing that what he says will effect the stock price, or a least it is likely to, let's his prognostication hit the street. Investors stay out or sell out, and low and behold, the Passport blows the doors off and the stock bolts, who sat out for that move? All I am saying is that the timing is suspect, and following Um's advice has consequences either way.

Lastly, I have heard Um interview C level folks, and frankly he is terrible at it. But his record maybe good, I don't follow him because I don't care for his style,,,,, well, he just isn't a guy I would take advice from. Who knows, maybe I would make more money if I did.

  • Update: The U.S. Consumer Is Going To Kill It, And J.C. Penney Will Too [View article]
    Fast,

I disagree, once he starts playing that game, he can't stop, it is a no win situation. CEO's trying to pitch a stock price scare hell out of me.

As for the $ or 2 that could be taken off, and it's ability to recover,,,,,,,,,,,if the numbers are there, the stock price will take care of it's self,

  • Twitter 2015 Outlook: Promise Me You Will Change [View article]
    Jack,

I see the same regarding FB. We just had the series of family get togethers, Thanksgiving and Xmas. In last 2 prior events, FB, talking about it, checking it, posting on it, etc. was all a buzz.

This year, the subject never came up, huge change. Wife says gets old, too much to wade through for the bits you might want.

    Once again, anecdotal,,,,,,,,,,,,,...

    Denis,

Since she is your "ex", she probably was tired of other things as well.

I know it is snarky, but such a soft ball, all in jest.
