The article draws the wrong conclusion from the decline in the investing in Treas. Protect. In. (TIPS). I sold my investment in TIPS because the inflation factor used is the phony one created by the FED, eliminating fuel costs and food costs. Thus TIPS doe NOT reflect the CONSUMER pprices since us consumers continue to buy fuel and food. The TIPS yield is not a true reflection of the goods and services I buy. other investors are also wiseing up and selling their fraudulent TIPS investments.
The article touts a 5.8% dividend. Where has the author been? GE has financial problems. No more buy back of shares, etc. Don't rely on that 5.8% rate continuing..The GE share price has been reduced by more than 30%.
A great article. Thanks. One little correction: George W will not retire to his ranch. Laura has announced they will be living in Dallas, Your article shows a lot of research, facts and sound economic observations.
Time To Consider Oil's Homely Cousin, Natural Gas [View article]
The numbers comparing energy values: natural gas (6MMCF) with oil(1BBL) are correct. Likewise the article's numbers comparing the crazy underpricing of natural gas are correct. Conclusion: Natural gas is currently selling at bargain prices.
BERNANKE is another Greenspan, both articulate but unsound economics. At the Fed retreaT B.B. spoke yesterday that the economy MAY experience inflation and the economy IS EXPERIENCING a credit crisis. B.B. is reading tea leaves, namely the Fed's phony COST OF LIVING index that excludes FOOD and FUEL purchases of consumers.
Man in the Street: Why Not Prosecute CEOs? [View article]
This article by Mark Sunshine points the finger at the right parties responsible for our FINANCIAL chaos. Our poliicemen (FED, eSEC, etc) are not punishing the criminals. The financeers should be held accountable. That will reduce the fraud. My frustration is with the phony financial statements being published by the SEC for the financial companies.. Obviously the true value of financial assets are being overstated and the reserves for losses are understated.
