"Even if the fund managment decided to close outstanding shares, investors will get a price much higher than today's price. $20/share for UNG is a minimum for a closing price if this ever happens."
Why Is Congress Agnostic About Natural Gas? [View article]
Both amazing & depressing to reflect on how much more good we would be doing ourselves if even SOME portion of the funding spent on "cash for clunkers", electric vehicles, TARP & the health care boondoggle were put into nat gas for transport infrastructure instead.
And why would anyone oppose it ? Not "Big Oil", since they own the gas, at decade low prices, and in quantities too big to store, as well. Not labor - just building the infrastructure alone would surely create tens of thousands of jobs. And not true environmentalists or anyone concerned about our economy either, for all of the fine reasons listed in the above article.
Really have to wonder - if Obama REALLY wants this country to succeed, why the silence, why isn't HE making it a TOP priority?

as an options trader, it's hard for me to believe that somebody's not taking an unfair or illegal edge when i place a limit order at a bid or ask that's been sitting there for minutes or even longer, only see it magically vanish w/o execution, w the NEW bid or ask suddenly just beyond whatever i've just offered.
happens much too frequently to be coincidence, and it needs to be stopped.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A bill to reauthorize a Department of Energy program for natural gas vehicle research, development, demonstration and deployment won overwhelming approval Tuesday in the U.S. House.
The legislation, which passed 393-35, heads now to the Senate where it is expected to garner support, said Rep. John Sullivan, an Oklahoma Republican who sponsored the bill.
value is as value is perceived, and if that's not gold and other commodities in a crashing economy, what else would it be?
better to have an even temporal store of value and a chance, than to be a cog in the mob and have none.

agreed.
AND, if the simpletons in charge of energy policy ever get serious about their mission & begin an NG for transportation policy (& could anything conceivably present a better opportunity for invoking this than the GM crisis?) -- WOW!

the more "softly" Obama speaks, the bigger stick he better be packing. Democrat policies will ultimately cost us more in defense spending, not less - especially in weapons systems.
so under what, if any, circumstances would the price of USO go up while contango is remains in effect?
conversely, would anything short a reversal of the recession, or acute geopolitical crisis, be likely to result in backwardation?
