  • Introgen Therapeutics: Advexin's P-Value Borg - Resistance is Futile [View article]
I find this data difficult to interpret. It seems the success of this trial depends on the term "p53 favorable profile" given that this patient population responds better to Advexin. First, what does a favorable p53 profile mean? Is that simply a mutation in the p53 gene or reduced expression? Second, it would be helpful if Introgen revealed how the data was analyzed? For instance, if p53 favorable patients are being selected after the study then I would argue the data is invalid. Simply, it would be easy to select the best patients and assign to them to the “favorable group”. However, if the favorable patients are identified before treatments then this data is strengthened.

Until this data is released, it will be difficult to determine the efficacy of Advexin.
