  • Will Amazon Grow Up to Be Wal-Mart? [View article]
<JeffB wrote, " Amazon is ALL about the customer exsperience">

I deal with both Amazon and WalMart for the same reason...to buy stuff, not for the experience.

<"I hope to God that AMZN never becomes Wal-Mart.">

I doubt God is very concerned about that.

How do you know what was going on in the mind of the alleged shoplifter? How do you know she was suspicious of the security team. Did she write in blood, "I was suspicious"?

  • Nuclear Poised for Comeback: GE, Hitachi Win Design Approval for Passive Reactor [View article]
All IMBY (In my back yard) customers should have lower rates subsidized by a stiff NIMBY tax. This system should be applied to electric, natural gas , and petroleum. Let the tree huggers eat tree bark....it's a staple in the North Korean diet.

Me for one. VW cannot hold a candle to Toyota in quality, durability, and reliability. Ditto for Porsche.

  • Why Are Natural Gas Producers Expanding Production So Aggressively? [View article]
A possible reason the producers continue to produce may be because it's profitable. I read a recent article that stated that Exxon could make money by giving away natural gas because NG was a byproduct of a process that produced other more profitable products.

  • Electric Cars Could Dominate Market by 2030 [View article]
In 2030 I'll be 91 but I only buy used vehicles, so maybe I'll be able to celebrate my century mark with a good used EV, but hey, we've had electric wheelchairs for many decades.

Rex Tillerson was correct because Exxon engages in what makes economic sense instead of pandering to PC.

  • Priming the Pump for $20/Gal. Gas: Interview with Chris Steiner [View article]
WalMart will die? Don't think so. They're quite innovative. Been experimenting with neighborhood stores for years. If WalMart needs to tap the author's mind, they can buy his book or hire him as a greeter.

  • How I Hedged My Gas Prices [View article]
    Bob van der V,

I would say that Southwest's hedge worked perfectly. Do you think they're upset about the reduction in fuel costs? Do you think that you could do a better job of running Southwest's fuel hedge system? Maybe you could...Maybe they'll be calling you.

The best hedge program was that of Tyson Foods. If commodities dropped, they benefited. If commodities rose, their 'client', Hillary, benefited.
