Cash growth acceleration is a lot more than any other company can say right now. Despite their great cash position, they have been downgraded by several analysts and sentiment dropped to become bearish (www.predictwallstreet....) in line with dropping PC demand/sales. The holiday period definitely helped Apple out so hopefully they can continue with this position into the next quarters.
Dell Gets Ready for a Comeback - Barron's
[View article]
I'm not exactly sure DELL is ready for a comeback anytime soon. It says it in the article- PC sales have plunged. Dell is more exposed to the slump that rivals Apple and Hewlett-Packard. Regardless of what they have on the books, if consumers (or corps.) aren't buying their product, they cant necessarily have a comeback. Investors have been patient long enough and it seems they have finally had it. Sentiment dropped and is becoming extremely bearish (www.predictwallstreet....) and has been down for a few days. Investors just don't have the confidence in Dell right now.
Apple: Uptick in iPhone Production May Point to Increased Demand [View article]
Apple is a good buy right now. Upped iPhone production is only one of the positive factors for Apple right now-along with new products and positive quarter results. Investors are confident in AAPL (www.predictwallstreet....) and all this will give them strength through the recession.
"Apple is poised to pop once investors regain confidence.." Apple products are definitely a luxury which will no doubt face problems in the coming year. But Apple has shown they are able to deal with the rough economy and still come out positive. Investors are confident in apple-sentiment for the month has been bullish overall (www.predictwallstreet....) and is ticked up. I think Apple is a definite good buy.
Agreed. I own a Storm and the most annoying part is trying to make a phone call. You have to hit about 3 buttons just to get to the dial pad. And I've had problems answering the phone because the Answer key is too slow to respond. As far as typing text messages/emails, I haven't really had a problem. It's kinda slow but I'm used to it now. I have an iTouch and just cant type on the keyboard on there because they letters are too small and I always end up hitting the wrong ones. I mainly got the Storm because I have Verizon. And if I had ATT I probably would of got an iPhone. In my opinion, they both have their pro's and con's and one isn't necessarily better.
What's Bad for Apple, Tonic for Research In Motion? [View article]
Ya pretty interesting to see how RIMM reacted. Looks like Job's can do more than just effect his own company's stocks now. I literally watched sentiment for RIMM crawl up to start becoming more bullish after a few bearish segments (www.predictwallstreet....) on this news. Its interesting to watch the momentum in the monthly sentiment for this company. There still is a lot of mixed feelings about RIMM, but I predict them up. RIMM is still the leader in this market's share and I believe them to remain a major player.
sounds like a good candidate, what the really need is a new business plan. maybe he's the guy to bring one. looks like investors are excited for what lies in the future for yahoo. pretty bullish today (predictwallstreet.com/...)
Apple: Estimates, Target Cut on Weak Forecast of iSales [View article]
If they sell the iPhone at Wal-mart there gonna sell a ton. As far as iPods go, Apple knows the market is saturated. That's why its all about upgrades for iPod users. And clearly Mac computer sales are gonna be down, but thats a given with the economy. Either way, investors are still bullish on AAPL (predictwallstreet.com/... in such an emotional market it shows investors are still optimistic about apples next year.
Apple Analysts Reality Check: Bear Rally Is Over [View article]
Hmm, I'm not so sure. Seem's AAPL is faring well. They often move on blog stuff/articles but its never for too long. Besides investors are still fulling bullish about them (predictwallstreet.com/...) which is probably enough to swing them up despite any negative headlines.
Yup, I just dropped my old iPod for the Touch and I am in love with it. It's a completely different experience. If only my town had more free wi-fi, haha. People are undoubtedly going to continue to buy iPods or upgrade. Sentiment for AAPL is bullish (predictwallstreet.com/...) and will most likely sustain through the holidays as people remain optimistic about this company and its ability to deliver value.
Could There Be an iPod Shortage for Christmas? [View article]
Ipod def isn't dead. Doubt they're will be a shortage. Head over to Costco. Kidding. But seriously, Apple would be silly to short such a revenue making product for their business.
2009 Will Be a Painful Year for Mobile Device Vendors [View article]
It's gonna be all about the upgrades in 2009 which is why these companies are pushing new phones so much. Hence RIMM and the Storm. But unfortunately rushing new devices does nothing for there reputation when they cant deliver a good product. Sentiment has become extremely bearish for RIMM (predictwallstreet.com/...) and I'd like to see how they recover in 2009.
Research in Motion's Miss Should Not Surprise [View article]
1-3 are spot on. "Until US consumers feel confident enough to buy bling again, sales of the latest smartphones are likely to disappoint." And there not feeling confident. Sentiment became extremely bullish for RIMM (Until US consumers feel confident enough to buy bling again, sales of the latest smartphones are likely to disappoint.) showing how pessimistic consumers really are. This sort of sentiment is bound to bring them down. RIMM sorta failed to deliver with the Storm which I know upset a lot of customers, including myself. While upgrading is a good focus, its kinda of hard to accomplish in our current macroenviorment.
WMG Sees Premium Pricing On Apple's iTunes [View article]
I think variable pricing is a terrible idea. Half the appeal of iTunes is its consistency and that the consumer can count on knowing every song is a dollar. WMG adds nothing to this entire process except a higher price, there is no value delivered, like TimboM said. I see a huge drop in AAPL sentiment (predictwallstreet.com/...) if this happens. Apple is also forecasted to close UP today according to predictwallstreet.com. In my past experience there forecasts have been accurate. Apple shouldn't hurt its stride now! Do away with variable pricing!
AAPL Smartphone Shows the Way to Competitors [View article]
Ya I saw that ad on the back page. The Storm had a good chance until it had software security problems. No matter how cool a phone looks, the bottom line is if it doesn't perform and deliver its useless. Apple mastered both-aesthetics and performance. Hence why people are so bearish on RIMM (predictwallstreet.com/...) and bringing its price down. Apple is forecasted to close up today too (predictwallstreet.com/...) and because sentiment is becoming more bullish for them, I think they will be able to sustain throughout the holidays.
