  • 2009 Will Be a Painful Year for Mobile Device Vendors [View article]
It's gonna be all about the upgrades in 2009 which is why these companies are pushing new phones so much. Hence RIMM and the Storm. But unfortunately rushing new devices does nothing for there reputation when they cant deliver a good product. Sentiment has become extremely bearish for RIMM (predictwallstreet.com/...) and I'd like to see how they recover in 2009.

  • Research in Motion's Miss Should Not Surprise  [View article]
1-3 are spot on. "Until US consumers feel confident enough to buy bling again, sales of the latest smartphones are likely to disappoint." And there not feeling confident. Sentiment became extremely bullish for RIMM (Until US consumers feel confident enough to buy bling again, sales of the latest smartphones are likely to disappoint.) showing how pessimistic consumers really are. This sort of sentiment is bound to bring them down. RIMM sorta failed to deliver with the Storm which I know upset a lot of customers, including myself. While upgrading is a good focus, its kinda of hard to accomplish in our current macroenviorment.

  • Buy, Sell or Hold: Apple's Cohesive Strategy to Survive and Thrive [View article]
The beginning of your article makes me want to not even read the rest of your article, for surely someone who thinks Apple products are "restricted to kids in affluent zip codes" is someone I'd rather not hear stock advice from. But at least you spent a few paragraphs outlining literally the most stereotypical and mundane "Apple vs PC" facts that clearly anyone on Seeking Alpha would be unaware of, so thank you. But this morning, while I was also sailing on my yacht listening to my iPod checking SA, I too came to the brilliant conclusion that Apple is indeed a bargain! After hours of technical, fundamental, and hard thinking analysis, this terribly complicated conclusion was finally reached. I'm glad we can agree on that. I hope all those poor kids on there PC's in high crime neighborhoods and less affluent zip codes are able to find your article as helpful as I did.

  • Five Reasons RIMM Will Continue to Fall  [View article]
there are parts of this article i think are exaggerations, but the fact that RIMM's products are becoming more commonplace is at least a little true. Blackberry's just really aren't that expensive anymore. RIMM definitely needs to create a new "must have" phone. I think RIMM is gonna see some some red, even though sentiment for this company is surprisingly bullish

  • Does a Mobile Internet Devices Market Exist? [View article]
Theres just not way I could tolerate looking at 6 inch screen trying to get my internet fix. The connectivity would be nice in emergency situations, but other than that, I find it almost more work to use any sort of phone with internet on it than to wait till I get home to use my laptop.
