  • Seadrill signs Mexican rig deals worth $1.8B [View news story]
    AC 283: rent, not sell.
    PEMEX needs the operators too.
But higher rates, increase in backlog by 9%, big foot in door with Pemex should only drop the stock about $3/share. (Note to self: stop reading SA articles.)

  • Seadrill: Why This Stock Is Undervalued And Should Be Owned By Every Investor [View article]
I propose that prudent investors w/o stock and only opinions to offer be limited to no more than 50 comments per article. -)
It will save us an incredible amount of time.

  • Transocean: The Bear Case Goes Far Beyond Decreasing Deepwater Day Rates (Part 2) [View article]
check out carl's performance on TLM. It is down ~ 20% since he bought. sdrl is currently on sale and xd is coming in about 3 weeks. They are being banged up by the RIG woes that I am not sure apply in the real world.

  • The Method To Bank Of America's Madness [View article]
Z: I had a similar issue with bac on a mortgage. I was adding principal reduction monies to payments but bac credited them to future interest payments... That hacked me off so bad I refinanced immediately with PNC. They were much better and I believe, honest.

Such unfettered optimism with no basis except the past. Remember that past performance is no indicator of future results. The guy who is betting everything (plus margin) on a single stock may end up very disappointed.
BTW, holder is not done shaking down the banks.

  • SeaDrill Will Regain Its Lost Value [View article]
comparing sdrl to fro is farcical at best. sdrl has long term fixed contracts; fro, spot mkt. sdrl 20 bil backlog; fro none. sdrl 6th gen drillers; fro was laden with single hull tankers, just converting to the double hulls.
After Macondo, sdrl is the go to driller for quite a while.

right up obama's alley. He and holder have been robbing banks with a high success rate lately. Why not tap the depositors accounts as well? Apt punishment for doing well.

  • SeaDrill's Dividend Under Threat? I Don't Think So. [View article]
Bud doesn't buy shares, he just borrows them.
SDRL and FRO are very differently structured companies. FRO was funded by spot contracts, SDRL has long term fixed. FRO never had a 20 $B backlog. Comparison is just silly.

  • Seadrill: Beware The Unsustainable Dividend [View article]
SEB Nordic Seminar Jan 2014 tells a different story as noted by Saratogahawk above, but they are no Barron's. I'm adding at these levels.

  • Sandridge Mississippian Trust II: Oversold And Returns 24% Dividend [View article]
Once again the comments provide more precise info than the author( but thanks for the effort). After reading the press release, I was confused by the low prices stated for the oil and ng produced, assuming SD had hedged production. They clearly do not do that well and are surrendering value that belongs to the unit holders. Are the hedge levels the same with SR production outside of the trusts? I am wondering about the expiration of the hedges for SDR. Is there anyone who can comment on that?

Yes, Cyprus, where the govt. takes ten percent of your bank accounts w/o warning. What a country.

  • Calumet Specialty Products: No Fuel For Growth [View article]
The author points out primarily negative aspects of the meeting transcript but says he is not short, yet. I would hate to think he would have the huge influence as we are seeing in the price drop, but mf and wscs are also probably piling on. CLMT's situation is not as dismal as he would like you to believe. Read the transcript.

PWE is a terrible stock with poor management. Dividend cuts are routine, a legacy policy for management. Expect more of them, but doubtful you will have continued cg's. Take your profits and don't look back.
