  • FireEye drops 5.4% on Piper downgrade; F5 partnership announced [View news story]
Piper raised the 12 month price target in June, days before FEYE hit its 52 week high in the mid $50s and then reiterated its Buy recommendation in September as the stock continued to decline from the June high. Now they downgrade the company, appears to me they are an excellent contrarian indicator. Must be time to buy the stock.

  • Time To Go Bottom Fishing For General Electric? [View article]
Glad to see all the negative posters. I was able to snag shares at $21.00 which makes for a very nice yield.

  • Is There Any Truth To Yingli's Solar Production Halt? [View article]
PV Magazine reported, "Two independent sources close to leading Chinese solar manufacturer Yingli have reported to pv magazine that production has been suspended at Yingli Green Energy."
You say, "CFO Yiyu Wang apparently refuted the production halt claim. He is quoted as saying, "In response to recent rumors that Yingli has halted production, I can confirm that this is untrue. We are in production today and are continuing to meet our customers' needs.""
"apparently", are you implying that the CFO was lying because he said the rumors are untrue? PV Magazine added that paragraph to their story without the word "apparently"
So did they halt production? A simple yes or no would suffice.

  • FireEye lower on valuation-driven Barclays downgrade [View news story]
Probably would have been a good idea to toss in the fact that over the last several days in addition to these downgrades, Wunderlich reiterated a Buy rating with a $62 PT and Wedbush initiated coverage at Outperform with a $63 PT.
Of course, a balanced post does not give as good a buying opportunity.

  • SandRidge Energy Ran Out Of Cash, Now What? [View article]
Actually a good sign. They are fully aware that SD is not a piggy bank for the CEO and his family like they once were and they are eliminating wasteful spending.

  • SandRidge Energy is target of antitrust grand jury probe [View news story]
How about punishing Tom Ward and his band of thieves instead of today's shareholders. Corporate entities and their stockholders don't break the law, people in positions of power do. Unfortunately, government attorneys find it easier to get convictions of corporations than they do of the criminals who are responsible for breaking laws.

  • FireEye: Increasing Dominance In The Cybersecurity Arena [View article]
Dramatic improvements in Cash Flow and face it that is what matters. Earnings are nice but how much cash you end up with at the end of the period is what feeds the machine.

  • Cybersecurity stocks sell off after Qualys provides weak guidance [View news story]
Always surprised by the sheep mentality on Wall Street. Logic says sell the weak and buy the strong like FEYE and VDSI which have each reported quarter 1 beats on eps and revenue and raised guidance for the year. Instead we see indiscriminate selling in the sector.

  • General Electric Reports First Quarter Earnings On Friday And Here Are My Projections [View article]
Sorry but I consider cash flow a better measurement of a company's performance and I consider any analyst estimate that doesn't include details pertaining to cash flow as light-weight and not to be taken seriously.
This is especially true when you have a dividend to pay and potentially change. You can engineer a nice looking earnings report but you can go broke if you spend more than you take in.

  • Buy oil stocks that don't need V-shaped recovery, Goldman recommends [View news story]
Gee, what happened to the GS January 12, 2015, forecast that called for a 6 month WTI oil price of $43.00? Maybe they should keep their forecasts to themselves until they can get it right a couple of times.

Stopped reading after, "...The stock is down almost 13% over the last 7 years,..."
I guess the author is unaware of the fact that the segment they are selling off was the major reason for the fall from $40 to below $10,

  • Zoe's Kitchen: Cheap For A Reason [View article]
Seems to me that any analysis of a restaurant stock should include at least a passing comment on what they serve, who they serve and what sets them apart from other "fast casual joints."
Personally I prefer Peter Lynch's methodology over yours.
Not saying this is another Chipotle Mexican Grill but if you did the same analysis of CMG at this stage of development you would have said it was over valued as well. Success in business is not just about extrapolating the future from recent quarterly reports,
