Capital One is currently offering a Savings Account at 3.55, vs. the 2.87 for SHV. And I don't think 3.55 is the best of breed either. However, ETFs are definitely more convenient. I checked Ameritrade, which offers bonds and bond ladders, and the rates are not competitive with the best listed on bankrate. But again, its convenient.
