also, take a look at the pasta aisle, in your local supermarket. when was the last time you didn't see pasta being nearly given away? A buck a box, sometimes less. doesn't seem there's much pricing power, in that category. lastly, volatile grain prices can kill their margins in short order.

oh, and yes, no dividend. other, larger, more diversified food companies pay their shareholders, while they wait.

A prolonged recession will wear down the balance sheet, and then suddenly management isn't going to seem quite so competent. The steel industry has the potential to remain in the doldrums for an extended period of time. Your analysis relies far too much on the past. Nucor's future is extremely uncertain, and the price reflects that uncertainty. Management won't hesitate to cut that fat dividend, if economic travails persist. IBM, GE, and a host of other companies have slashed dividends when the going got tough.

You neglected to mention ABFS's union pension obligations, should YRCW fail. Yes, they'd pick up additional business, but the potential financial burden from YRCW's demise would be immense. Look into it, you'll be amazed. I own ABFS and would not buy another share.
