Fannie, Freddie Shareholders Will Be Left Holding the Bag - Barron's

Note that probably the people posting here in favor of a bailout of the shareholders are probably those that bought at a discount hoping to make a killing. This is America. I would be outraged if even a penny went to existing common and preferred shareholders. Individuals should just eat the loss and stop whining. Institutions that held common or preferred stock can be given liquidity (read very very senior LOANS) from the fed that would take priority over their own shareholders---many of which now are foreign.

No way should the US governemnt bailout the shareholders and tank the US Treasury
