PC Market Not Looking Good, Dell Especially [View article]
What does Dell missing estimates have to due with the recommendation to avoid AAPL? They're not targeting the same customer and AAPL already reported blowout earnings.
AAPL's profit margin is among the highest off the computer manufactures, Dell's among the lowest.

Andy, to any Apple watcher worth their salt, you're one of the best, most informed, analysts out there and most times, dead on. Love the way you put it to Sacconaghi. Ever thought about taking his job!
7.11M iphones would be fantastic and completely destroy most estimates. We'll find out in a couple of hours.
Thanks for your hard work. I really appreciate it.
PC Makers Likely To Feel Compelled to Build 'Smart Tablets' [View article]
Wow,
You're article makes little sense and offers no support for any of your arguments.
Your first statement, "there's an obvious amount of pent-up demand for such a device" referring to a larger ipod touch, is backed with what research? How or why is it obvious?
You then talk about "the Android realm". Android is currently available on only ONE handset. Now, all ONE manufacturer is thinking of jumping into a touch tablet because you state "they likely are now". Is now New Year's Day? Or all of 2009? Or the first week in January? And why now? What makes them likely? Did they read your article and deiced to forgo the Rose Bowl to work up a touch tablet?
And why "thus Apple will be compelled to as well". Apple HAS NOT been compelled to jump into the netbook market and Steve Jobs has declared they "don't make crap". Apple does not follow, especially an alliance that has yet to manufacture more than one device and may never reach penetration in the mainstream markets.
And your comment about a video-in port to receive video from a iphone is asinine. So a person is going to carry an iphone, a docking station and a video out cable so they can watch video on a 7" screen rather than a 3" screen. Why wouldn't they download video right to the tablet?
You state that AAPL would be a buy at a p/e of 7 but not currently where it is at 16. With most predictions of a flat sales this holiday period the only way to move p/e would be a decrease in share price which would equate to AAPL at $39 a share.
Do you really believe that AAPL is going to hit $39 a share?? Thanks for going out on a limb and stating that AAPL is a buy at 39.
Wow, I haven't had to say this in a while, but you're an idiot. Your statement, "free from the iTunes DRM on music", just doesn't make any sense. You can load the same DRM free music on to an ipod as a Zune!! You don't need to use itunes to buy your music and itunes has DRM free music.
And why compare internet traffic to the respective sites; it doesn't say ANYTHING about sales. A completely useless statistic.
Dude, it was 101 outside and you don't have air conditioning?? Yet you can afford to buy a MacBook Air?
I'm a fanboy but this is taking it to new extremes! Your productivity might increase if you had taken some of that $2,000 and bought a MacBook and a $400 air conditioner.
Why Apple Stock Is Poised To Go Flat - At Best [View article]
@frdm45 "otherwise keep the elementary school insults to the schoolyard or other sites where such low class verbiage is acceptable"
If I had said publicly that Apple sells an iphone for $199, the same as other phones, so there must not be a price premium associated with it. I would expect to be called an idiot. This is completely false and shows not even the most basic understanding of the sales model of the iphone.
If my boss didn't call me an idiot I'd quit the company due to my new found lack of respect for him.

You are an IDIOT
Very rarely do I argue with someone as clueless as the author of this article but I'd like you do to do two things, Google "iphone component cost" and "iphone subsidized price". Now, tell me how profit margins are falling.

You're an idiot! There's a little thing called the iphone 3G that was just released, have you heard of it? It sold one million units in its first weekend of sales in one of the 70 countries it is available.

"The poor overall economy is bound to eventually slow Mac's desktop and laptop momentum"
This statement, based on your personal opinion, has not been backed up by fact. The economy has been constrained all year and Mac sales increases have been triple the overall market PC market
Anyone can have an opinion, but when it is not back up by real world observation, you just look stupid and uninformed.
