What's your rationale for investing heavily in transportation? I own a small amount of Norfolk Southern. I read some about JB Hunt, and I like that. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I am long Aapl, and by that I mean 20 years+ - TO INFINITY AND BEYOND!!!. I am passing it on to my kids when I leave this world. It is a sound and prolific company with yet a lot of potential.. Amidst the price fluctuations, I find it to be an exciting company to own. It's my right and prerogative to feel that way, and I will hold onto Aapl.unless something major happens within the company that changes things dramatically and irrevocably for the worse..
Sell In May? Maybe A Little, But Rotate [View article]
It is confusing to come on here and read multiple opinions. Who is right? Or is the question, "Who is right the majority of the time?" The uncertainty is perplexing and stressful So many come on here writing with certitude and conviction, how can each opinion be right? Aren't results from a technical analysis irrefutable?
Market recap: What spring swoon? Earlier shaky economic reports were tossed aside as investors cheered a jobs report that easily beat expectations, pushing the S&P to a 1600-plus close for the first time and the Dow briefly to 15,000. Cyclical industrial and materials sector paced gainers. Nymex crude rose 1.7% as prospects for energy demand enjoyed a jolt. Treasury prices slid; the dollar gained 1% vs. the yen. [View news story]
Higher taxes on the middle class- restricting business growth and increasing inflation from QE-, the bottom's gonna fall out. I am a realtor. and I see 3+ bedroom. 2 bath homes in very good or better condition over and over again going for $50,000 to $70,000. These are not new homes, but still these prices are extremely deflated. Scary.

Someone please correct me if I am wrong: at the current price (rounding off) of $50 per share, @17 cents div. per share, one would have to purchase $15,000 worth of stock to get a dividend yield in the amount of $50 each month?

Appreciate your article. A high compliment is that so many need and want to reread it. (I am one.) A thorough analysis and a starting point from which I will practice my own "due diligence." Thank-you!

Not to detract from the main points of your article, which I found informative and interesting, but "The main military leader in China is clearly Colonel Saunders" gave me a good chuckle. That Kentucky Fried Chicken is popular in China is an interesting phenomenon.

I already had COP, came in at a low point and doubled my position right after the split, so I have both PSX and a larger position in COP. I had MRO and now have MPC; I am long MPC, which has a larger dividend than MRO, whose price has essentially flatlined in the last 4-5 years. Thinking of selling it...or at least utilizing the sell in May seasonal strategy (Thank-you.); I have BP, XOM, WMB and its spinoff WPX. I really like WPX but might sell it as it produces no dividend; I would take a loss if I sold it now, however...Presently over 10% of my portfolio is in oil and energy stocks. I am being watchful and on the alert in terms of allocation, weighting, strategy. Planning to sell off some MRO and add to COP, esp. now and in the next 6 months when oil prices are historically lower.
