State Street: A Follow-Up Recommendation [View article]
I would not buy this stock until this bucket shop makes good on the bond fund law suits involving the pension funds State Street was purportedly managing.
When pension funds managed by Prudential had huge losses due to State Street Bond Fund mismanagement and losses, Prudential made good on the losses. That would indicate that Prudential has excellent liquidity as well as high ethical standards. Prudential handled the State Street Bond Fund losses correctly while State Street is making pensioners sue them.
Dividend Analysis: State Street Corporation [View article]
Until State Street settles the various bond fund lawsuits, I don't know how anyone can recommend the stock. If your business is managing pensions and you have numerous conservative companies suing you for mis-management of pensions then how can it be a "buy." In addition, the amount involved in the lawsuits would seem relatively minor but maybe State Street is not settling because they have less liquidity than they claim.
