  • Royal Dutch Shell - Is Arctic Drilling The Best Idea? [View article]
The only drill baby drill thang we should be considering is starving off global warming by fracking and tapping methane hydrates from beneath the ocean floor to minimize their venting into the atmosphere....big oil & gas got us into this mess, now they need to employ all their resources to get us out of this global warming mess.

NG=dinosaur fossil and wind are where the future is at because the inputs (sun & wind) have zero cost....fracking has extreme costs to the bottom lines of these brave companies buying into the shale bubble

  • Natural Gas: Positive Signs Emerging [View article]
Don’t forget that the LNG export commitments will also create a demand as supply deminishes...but Chesapeake can always come back to Arlington Gasland TX in our densly populated neighborhoods and near our schools and finish the build out not using Best Emission Control Technologie$$$...ooops they already drilled the “sweet spots” though? hmmph so much for American energy security and affordable gas....oh well those power plants can just switch back to coal when NG price gets too high...what can the chemical companies do but raise their prices cause their NG feedstock is going up in price...but hey the stock market players will win?

  • In hundreds of cases across the U.S., drillers have agreed to cash settlements with people who say fracking ruined their water, according to a Bloomberg analysis of legal and regulatory filings. The strategy keeps data from regulators, policymakers, the media and health researchers, and makes it difficult to challenge the industry’s claim that fracking has never tainted anyone’s water. [View news story]
And whose idea was it to do urban drilling? People are getting sick near this activity, my husband has cancer-we’ve been surrounded for years kid, my pet, and I have asthma now....oh well? other kid has a high VMA and low absolute lymph count (we live two blocks from the Chesapeake drill site near the Cowboys Stadium-they flowback in open hatch tanks)...oh well he may have a brain tumor?...oh well....!.....Just search "The Harmed List” see the other thousand claims of injury from fracking. People that invest in fracking related mining especially near people and especially with this unconventional, unproven safe technolgy are real risk takers with their money and their souls.

  • Longleaf Partners Reveal Where Ex-Chesapeake CEO McClendon Lost Their Support [View article]
Chk needs to spend more money on protective measures drilling in urban areas. They need to figure out how to keep silica frack dust out of the airshed. They also need to flowback into closed, pressurized flowback tanks. They need to employ surface equipment that can run on nondiesel fuel too. They need to never return to Arlington gasland Texas and drill so close to people where they live and go to school.

  • Natural gas is threatening $4/MBTUs for the first time in 17 months as winter has shown no sign of exiting and MDA Weather Services is predicting lower-than-normal temps for most of the country for the rest of the month. "We could see three more weeks of (storage) withdrawals" at a time when most are positioned for additions, says an analyst. UNG +2.5%[View news story]
The drilling treadmill will loose its steam as the hyperbolic production decline curves start to show themselves...the more we drill, the less production...hmmmn someone needs to tell Obama bout’ that before we start signing all these LNG export contracts.
