Flash is NOT dead. Not at all. It may not be widely used any more for new development, but it is still the most popular format used on the web today. So to say it's dead is wrong. HTML 5 is being used now, but so is Flash. Not every company can afford to change to HTML 5. Flash will be with us for years, and only those that are influenced by Apple with think otherwise, but that doesn't change reality.
Who knows whether Apple (AAPL) is over- or underpriced - different investors can come to different valuations - but after the week it's had (down 6% in three days, and 10% off its high), maybe you should look at paring that position (and considering how much Apple moves major indexes, you may own a lot more than you think). No matter what happens after the bell today, Apple will be dropping within a short period of time to the mid $400's. Count on it!
The drop continues, as I predicted, in pre-market. Yes, I think it will drop to $450 or lower. Just watch. You will be saying "I should have listened to you, you were right". Lookin' forward to that. See ya!
I'm sure you have, but this time, it's different. People realize that Apple products are not all that great, and are priced way to high. Their time is up.
You have some valid points. I can't dispute that Apple is a marketing machine. That is why Apple is considered a marketing company, and RIM is considered a technology company. On the same note, RIM is considered an innovator, while Apple is considered a re-inventor (taking other people's ideas and tweaking them). The problem for me is I only buy the best of anything. So I don't listen to all the Apple propaganda. As for research, well, the Playbook is clearly the best tablet out there. You just need to pick it up and use it for 5 minutes and this becomes clear. As for an Android phone, they all have the same UI, at least 90% the same. The other differences take no time to get used to. All the available Android phones now are better than the latest iPhone, so to me, the only decision is which I like the look of best, and what my choices are for the provider I use. Apple products are definitely good, and marketed the best, but they are not the best you can get. But they are clearly good enough for many.
It won't necessarily be up to Apple. Everywhere people are starting to realize just how much of a ripoff Apple products are, and that there are better products available (for everything Apple makes). Apple's market share is falling, everywhere.
I agree Robert, the gender is irrelevant. Obviously some people can't find any flaws in your logic, so they resort to making things up to slam you on, like Regnes. Pointless and meaningless babble. Your article was a very good read, and much more realistic than the other one.
Android phones are Apple's worst fear. A better phone for a reasonable price. There's a reason Android is killing the iPhone. Better, cheaper. Simple! Android is the leader in the smartphone market now. iPhone is yesterdays news. It will only get worse for Apple.
