Connecting the Dots of the Internet Revolution

I'm not a journalist by trade but have started blogging more frequently. Common sense (and common courtesy) would seem to dictate that anyone quoting a source from the web would provide the full url to the source page at the very least. It's easy to set the link as a pop up window so readers don't even have to leave the site. Failure to do so almost makes it seem like you're trying to hide the fact that you've copied and pasted someone else's work into your own material. Maybe some writers are just trying to hide the fact that they have trouble producing original content.
