Connorport, I don't know if you are correct or not. If you are, I would think that they should make an iphone app that can navigate using XM nav traffic and play satelite radio...That would be a real game changer for SIRIUSXM....Then they can make their own all in one gps/satelite device. You should probably email Mel Karmazin and tell him his satelite radios can be gps devices also...make an iphone app quick...who needs TOM TOM?

WOW...great comments! With all SIRIUS XM'S debt...They should pursue satelites in Cuba and China, hey why not Japan?. Then after they do that they should give a dividend to all stock holders!!! Who cares about debt or making a profit first? Maybe they can get a bailout? I am long SIRI with 1.5 billion shares, I buy more after every Brandon Mathews article that RAF says is great. I look forward to SIRIUS XM having a space program to allow people to travel to MARS while they listen to SIRIUS XM...I once stole a car from Hertz...the only reason they found me is because I was listening to Howard Stern on SIRIUS, I didnt know SIRIUS XM was Lojack?.....LOL.....just a little sarcasm...wtf? I feel it is a personal intrusion of my rights if my location can be tracked via SIRIUS XM without my knowledge! Pell, I actually agree with you on the R/S issue. However, at what point do we move onto another topic. I think you are overestimating RAF, Brandon Mathews and Satwaves. You seem to think that convincing them will somehow make a difference to SIRI executives. RAF, Brandon and satwaves staff are just bloggers like we are. They do not have any influence on SIRIUS XM decision makers! Sure there are some "paid" bloggers here. They are paid by SATWAVES..not SIRIUSXM....Note comments above trying to get people to read articles on SATWAVES, and the past constant "great article Brandon" comments...Weather or not a R/S is ever done....Do you really think Brandon, RAF or satwaves would have any influence on that or any major decision? lol....If so....we should all sell now!!
I just received a letter from SIRIUSXM about the promo of 2 weeks of service on a disconnected radio and the 20 dollar for 4 months of service. They are advertising only to radios that they have on file as "cancelled". This is a smart way to advertise this "promotion". This promotion, I would not consider part of the "aggressive" advertising campaign. I have received many letters over the years trying to reactivate that radio. This is just the first time they offered "free" limited service. To put this out to the "general public" would be foolish. Although a mention on the website would be a good idea. I keep telling SIRIUS XM that the car was stolen!!!I cant reactivate a radio that was in a stolen car...lol...they keep trying to get that radio reactivated...I give them credit for persistence...This promotion is minor in my opinion, not a big deal. Just one of many retention efforts...No need to go to everyone...

To change gears for a minute.....With Oprah announcing the end of her broadcast tv show after 2011. She will have her own tv network (OWN), and Oprah Radio. It will be interesting to see how these two ventures can be integrated together in the future. I would think it would be good for SIRIUSXM in the future due to all her loyal fans. She will have a lot more control of her shows on tv as she does on her Radio.

I agree, pirranna, this continued debate seems pointless. Mel Karmazin has said numerous time no reverse split in the near future. In fact he says he will try to get Nasdaq to make an exception for them due to thier large market cap. He will avoid rerverse split as much as possible. Wheather you think it should happen or not has been said. Get over it!!! No one hear including the Guru Brandon has any connection to Mel Karmazin, so new topic!!! If you're wating for the r/s before the stock will move up....It may be time for you to sell the stock....bottom line..

All the talk about how good or bad the content is or best of breed, is not the issue with SIRIUSXM. Most would agree that the content is great as far as variety. It would be hard for anyone to not find a few stations that they would like. In my opinion, the challenge for SIRIUSXM is getting the masses to get use to the idea of paying for radio. This is something that will take many years, and is especially hard during a recession. Many have accepted the mediocrity of radio as just a part of life. Awful terrestrial radio was the key to the popularity of the audio cassette, cd, in car DVD'S, and now mp3's. Many feel radio is something you listen to only when nothing else is available. So, with that line of thinking, here comes SIRIUSXM, that offers pay "radio". People have a bad view of listening to "radio" and SIRIUSXM has a lot of work to undo that. So far, they've done it by expsosing it to new car owners.....This strategy is great, but now it's time for added strategies to "undo" peoples view of listening to radio...and let them know there is a great "premium" alternative that arguably is as entertaining as cable or satelite tv. I personally listen to radio more than I watch tv...during commute, workout, chores in house etc... Hence, the slogan, we're changing the way you listen...The advertising campaign is great in that it focuses on the brand and the key word "CHANGE" instead of any device such as the SKYDOCK......I look forward to more ads with current "on air" personalities....Oprah, Russo, Eminem, Springstein, and other personalites to represent all genres.....They are "changers" too.....That is the challenge for SIRIUSXM, to change peoples thinking of radio....No device can do that...thus the over hyped skydock didn't really change much and never will...until peoples view of pay radio is changed...

Excellent comments! I totally agree. The stock has been stagnant for months and I don't see any slow and steady rise in stock price. In fact I have seen a significant decline in the last 3 months, even after a great report. I love the company, but I hate penny stocks!!! so does the media and most others besides speculators. Do the R/S and make the stock respectable!!!Even Mel Karmazin has hinted that he doesn't expect the stock price to be over $1.00. He says he will hope that the rules can be changed due to SIRI large market cap. Do th R/S while the company has positive news such as the 3rd quarter report, advertising,etc.....

No question, the best advertisement is in the car with that free trial with a new or certified car. However, the advertising campaign will help with retention, bring back some turned off radios and some new subs. Consumers have a tendancy to want what is familiar to them. So the more SIRIUSXM becomes a familiar brand rather than some new or certified vehicle "secret", the more consumers will want the service. I am not a big fan of the SKYDOCK the way SATWAVeS hyped it up. However, It is a necessary device for that relatively small market with iphones/ipod touch that are willing to pay for radio in their car. Satwaves and others made it to be the best selling device since the ipod....No, but it will help with retention and bring a marginal number of retail subs..As will the Onyx,Stratus 6 and other dock and plays. The best thing about the ipod/iphone relationship is that those users can sample the service for free for up to 30 days . That will "hook" some more subs as well. That is why tv and billboard ads are important...People need to want to sample...the more people that samplethe service, the more that will become a paying subs...Eventually they can advertise a "free" period of service for all cancelled subs before the merger. This will expose those to the improved programming since the merger...... .I personally got the service way back in about 2002 due to a TV commercial with Snoop Dogg.....I bought XM when a dock and play XM was a lot more expensive than it is now......Now you can get a dock and play easily self installed for as little as $69.99...My installation alone was $75.00... ..I was wondering about billboards because that is what SIRIUS XM used a few months ago for the Iphone/ipod touch app...The iconic figures from the tv ad on a billboard would be eye catching and bring brand recognition.....

Pell, you have made many thought provoking ideas and comments on this blog. It's a shame when you have an opposing view to satwaves or bring up a concern of any kind, you must be a short, or accused of being SIRI-DOOM, Is SIRI-DOOM the only person in the world who may have a different opinion on SIRI? It is not moaning or whining when one points out that the stock declined, . A few "cents" in a penny stock is a big deal to most. It just shows peoples agenda to keep pointing out how the stock is going up due to technical strength, when the reality is it has been stagnant for the last 3 months or so...Actually down about 16% from it's high in August of this year......But I guess 13 cents...is just a few cents to some...I respect everyones opinion, but it has become obvious that some people don't state opinions...just repeat the same stuff to support their agenda. Anyone who opposes that agenda is said to be a "short", or never posting anything worthwhile......You can be Long SIRI, but still not just think everything is perfect, or the way satwaves says!! Pell...don't let the satwaves employees, or paid bloggers discourage you from speaking your true opinions....they are worthwhile to many here....
