It's funny how some people that love SIRIUS XM want to believe that there is no competition for satellite radio. Do people forget that the reason SIRIUS XM exists as a combined company is because they had to prove there is competition from mp3 players, terrestrial radio, and yes internet radio! Now it is my opinion that SIRIUS XM is far superior than all other options. I feel the content is better and the service is more reliable than the internet can ever be. Sure, you may go into your garage or in a tunnel and lose signal. However, most people spend most of their drive time with a clear view of the sky. So, to say internet radio is No threat to satellite radio is too strong. It is competition....But so is terrestrial radio, cds, mp3s....EVEN TOTAL SILENCE IN YOUR CAR! The bottom line is CONTENT IS KING....weather you get it through satellite or the internet. Internet radio is nothing more than a Jukebox that anyone with a 8gb mp3 player can duplicate. Some will choose Internet radio over SIRIUS XM...Some people still have 8 disk cd changers in their cars, to each his own. These people that choose internet radio over SIRIUS XM won't like comedy, news, sports, or anything but a music jukebox. SIRIUS XM or any service will never be the perfect fit for everyone. That is why there are always alternatives. Internet radio is already here and has been available for years. Anyone with a cell phone and data plan can use. Some do...however, over 18 million and growing use SIRIUS XM instead.

Sirius Expectations from Auto Sales Data http://seekingalpha.com/article/181065/comments?source=feed#comment-836419 836419 To qualify for the "trending up crew" you have to believe and post the following.

1. When SIRI loses over 20%, you must state using fancy language that it is "trending up"
2. When shown facts...You must then say you have some magical chart with some kind of "bands" that still says it is "trending up" when in fact people may be losing tens/hundreds of thousands of dollars.
3. You of course must support what RAF says, as he is the leader of this club.

In my opinion, about 95% of bloggers here are in with the con game to hype the stock with no realistic viewpoints.

Sirius Expectations from Auto Sales Data http://seekingalpha.com/article/181065/comments?source=feed#comment-836402 836402 At what point do people give up the dream of SIRI hitting $1.00 by March? Ok, unless they announce some miracle device this week at CES, what could possibly make this stock move big time? It moved well the last few days. However, the current levels have been seen in the last few months...only to dip back down to the mid to high $.50s. Maybe management knows something that they have managed to keep hidden from subscribers and investors. They seem to just be screwing the retail investor because they think they are just a bunch of idiots. They want to keep institutional investors out so they can screw the millions of "lower class" investors in SIRI. I just have a very bad feeling about what they are doing to current investors. Another "carrot" was just thrown for the new year for a bunch of new folks who will lose about 20% of their investment in the next 10 days. I see the same pattern. SIRI share price rises..propaganda about bullish catapult to $1.00...Then the crooks sell their share and new investors lose about 20%. I'm sick of that con game.
I look to make money on this mid 2010 or 2011after the R/S...Current shareholders are playing Russian roulette.

I have said many times, I love the service and the future of the company. However, due to all the uncertainty at this point, the stock will remain stagnant. In fact it has lost a substantial amount since August 2009. All this technical strength talk is really foolish at this point. Explain the technical strength in going from $.78 in August 2009 down to just $.57 in the last few weeks. That is about a 28% downward move. I know your game, you will come back and say losing $.21 is not a big deal, it's only pennies. You will mention bands and a lot of useless jargon to impress those new to the site. Then use more fancy language to make people think losing 28% is no big deal. 28% is a big deal to me, especially when the overall market is doing well. Look at recent history, the last 3 months....As the March deadline gets closer....The more uncertainty...thus share holders will lose until this is addressed.

Sure uncertainty is a part of life. however some uncertainties are easily addressed. It is unjust to leave shareholders with so many questions left unanswered. You have to realize that many people are SIRI long investors here and give thumbs up only to positive statements about the stock. Thus if I am a cheerleader for SIRI news, and only state the positive even if it is not true. I will have a high rating. I have made the pledge to my readers to tell them the truth even if it hurts them to read it. This stock has a large following of groupies that love to hear how they will get rich . Any realistic talk is seen as negative and gets thumbs down. So, if you have many thumbs up, it simply means you are a cheerleader. I speak the truth and don't even look at my ratings. Did you get a trophy for being top 100? Congratulations!
As far as SIRIUSMAN, I have no clue what you are referring to.

People are so afraid of the R/S that they are now pushing this buyback? This has never been an option! They have too much debt to even consider that opion!

I have to advise everyone besides gamblers, to sell at this point and wait for the R/S to buy back. Leave emotions and SIRI STOCK behind in 2009! Buy back in 2010 after the R/S....

Satellite Radio Has Found the Key to Success http://seekingalpha.com/article/179291/comments?source=feed#comment-819085 819085 1. Blackberry app, hopefully apps for all smart phones. Also, they need to retire the ridiculous blackberry plan that exists now...$7.99 for 20 channels. Only an idiot would sign up for that.

2. The re-signing of Howard Stern, also getting his mobile rights so he can be listened to on mobile phones...

a side note with Howard Stern. He may be the biggest personality on radio. However, I see an issue with his show. His show is one of those shows that has commercials on SIRIUS XM. He has an audience easily over 1 million per day. His freedom of speech is great for him and his fans....It is not good for advertisers though...it is tough to balance....letting him be free with speech or toning it down to get more "mainstream" advertisers...
Oh well...I guess they will have to settle for "cougar life" and pennystock advertisements....Howard Stern gets more subscribers to sign on, but a channel like Oprah Radio brings in a lot more advertising dollars...Would be great if numbers of listeners could ever be known....

3. Increasing of Brand recognition. Once that is done. People can get SIRIUS XM devices for the cheapest price in the history of satellite radio. Radios that can be self installed are available for as low as $49.99...low as $29.99 for existing customers..I think the lifetime package is great...If they could ever work out an installment plan for lifetime service...that would be good...they have a 4 month plan....I was thinking more like pay $399 over a 12 month period..example $34.00 a month for 12 months, many just can't get use to the idea of paying for radio on a permanent basis in my opinion...Pay for a year and be done with payments....

4. A dual marketing plan with Direct tv to offer a bundled package to the million of Direct tv subscribers. A similar plan should be worked with Dish network if possible.

And finally, a release of the term "paid blogger" from the bad word list of seeking alpha. That word did become one of my favorite terms of 2009! Ok, a little sarcasm at the end....best wishes to all....I think Jerrold Williams and staff will close shop for the rest of 2009...unless something weird happens or someone tries to degrade the name Jerrold Williams.

Best wishes

Satellite Radio Has Found the Key to Success http://seekingalpha.com/article/179291/comments?source=feed#comment-817880 817880 If you don't believe in a company's management and you feel the service isn't in demand.....DON'T BUY, DON'T BUY
If you feel the stock will tank....SELL! SELL! SELL!
Don't buy "many shares" of a company you don't believe in!
Maybe I am the idiot. I should read where Warren Buffet would buy many shares of a stock of a company he says has bad management, outdated technology and whose stock is headed down. Then as an intelligent investor, you predict it will keep going down but you still hold on to "many shares", that will help your diversified portfolio?. That is just dumb, idiotic, foolish, etc.......what do I know.I need training on how to pick stocks I feel have bad management and whose stock I feel will tank, I need to find the benefit of investing in that company's' stock and watch it lose value as you do.....I can understand those that hold and expect a turnaround, they can speculate...but you say it will keep going down because of failing management and competition, yet you still hold "many shares". So, my point is you try to give yourself credibility by saying you hold "many shares" and then try to bash the company. I had to set you straight. I had to point to the inconsistency of your B.S. That's all...By the way, Don't claim I am trying to start an "arguement"!. Don't try to use words you cant even spell!
"argument", I believe is the correct spelling...But I am the idiot...lol

Tue, 22 Dec 2009 19:09:11 -0500 If you don't believe in a company's management and you feel the service isn't in demand.....DON'T BUY, DON'T BUY
Dayworker, once again you have been set straight by Jerrold Williams.

Thinking more out of the box on the Howard Stern issue. From a marketing standpoint. It will be wise to drag this out for the whole year. I know it hurts now, but the speculation will start to build as we get closer to December 2010. The mass media will be all over it...Will Howard Stern retire, will he return to regular radio, etc...His signing at that point can be a big a story as it was 5 years ago! This will once again be great publicity for SIRIUS XM if it works out that way. I would look for National headlines and coverage. If he re-signed "early" the story would lose a lot of it's impact. As far as how much he is paid, Mel K is great at working that out. Howard Stern is the leading source that gives satellite radio credibility in media. Losing H. Stern and not having him as an ally of satellite radio would be a disaster for SIRIUS XM. Mel K has said that Howard Stern is one of the few personalities that definitely paid for himself long ago! They could change the XM "best of SIRIUS" package to the Howard Stern package....He might have paid for himself just from those numbers...I don't know if they were ever released...

Satellite Radio Has Found the Key to Success http://seekingalpha.com/article/179291/comments?source=feed#comment-816936 816936 I also have to disagree with you big time. To say the content isn't good is just silly. XM has over 170 channels, none are good? that is insane. I don't know what XM music stations you listened to, but if you were bored, CHANGE THE STATION....I would be bored by the ELVIS station, or any other Rock n Roll station...so, I don't listen to them, I personally prefer SHADE45, and HIP HOP NATION...to each his own! There are over 170 channels. To say that many listen only 1 or 2 hours a day and the price isn't worth it is also ridiculous. If $.50 a day for 1 or 2 hours a day of entertainment is out of your budget, i understand. However, How many hours a day do you watch tv? how much is your cable or satellite bill? How much do you talk on the phone,,how much is your cell phone bill? ...So, bottom line. Some people will always prefer free service over pay...However, to say it is a sub par product when they have over 18 million subscribers is silly. Their churn rate is one of the lowest in the subscription service industry so most people that try it must love it. Your 4gig or even a 128 gig mp3 player lacks one important thing....the ability to get live and fresh content. it will just be a big jukebox of songs you put on there and heard already....That is good for sometimes...but for most that gets boring fast....Plus, who wants to take the time to update songs everyday...Let the pros do it..and spend your time more efficiently...
By the way...lol...If a 4gb mp3 player for $30.00 is adequate entertainment for you...You don't need SIRIUS XM.....You are just a cheap person with limited needs in entertainment. You and your wife enjoy your great 4gb MP3 player.....You probably still use a VCR instead of paying for DVR service....You can get a VCR for $5.00 and no monthly charge....Keep using your old limited technology.....
