I agree with Alphameister and Thucydides. I beleive the CRA was the root cause of the problem because politicians exerted tremendous pressure on banks that were out to make a quick and easy buck. In return the politicians were able to buy votes. In my opinion, the Democrats and Republicans were and are in an incestuous relationship with one another when this happened.......I'll scratch you back if you scratch mine. How Ritholtz could miss this is puzzling.
