It's Ugly Out There. What's Washington Waiting For? [View article]
Our financial system does not have a liquidity problem, it has a solvency problem, which is going to correct itself over the next 2-3 years. Exceptionally low interest rates are what got us into this problem in the first place.
US Bancorp Is Whistling Through the Graveyard [View article]
considering their stock isn't in a free-fall like the rest of the financial market, I'd say they must be doing *something* right...this article could use some hard facts to back it up other than "111%".
Apple Tumbles During 'Disappointing' Stevenote [View article]
In a bear market, don't most institutions sell into strong companies with strong earnings in order to capitalize on the momentum and take profits? That would be one of the things I'd hedge against come earnings season, strong or not...
Dendreon Suffers from Immature Management [View article]
I've read this article three times trying to understand exactly *how* DNDN suffers from immature management, and I still don't get it. Here's an interesting question for you - what ever happened to Stan Kurland, and why did he suddenly resign not too long ago? Stan was heir apparent for a very long time, right up until he suddenly resigned and David Sambol was named in his stead. As an investor I'd be interested to know more about that peculiar management shakeup...
The Times’ 'Expose' of Countrywide Lacks Any Evidence [View article]
You're assuming that every branch office behaved exactly the same way. I'm willing to bet a basket of tangelos (a homage to one of the nicknames given to CFC's now dubious CEO) that predatory behaviors lurked throughout many of the branches - especially in markets with hotter real estate markets...
