  • Boeing 787 vs. Airbus A380 - The Latest Chapter [View article]
Boeing has a history of bringing technology to the market too early, disrupting markets, and here they are again in this mode. That statement isn't to blame them for wrong, it's just to understand the past in order to control the future. Revising the 767 with new technologies would have been a better choice of action. A world wide production effort is a worthy goal, yet they should have required the foreign companies (and capital) to produce their parts here in the U.S.A., with U.S. personnel, (enhancing labor/management co-operation). Attitude adjustment: When the bond between business and society isn't taken seriously, bad things can happen, as happened with Henry Ford and the FOMOCO in the 30's. You have grown the business until it is meshed with the economy of this country. As such, we can't afford for you to fail........or fail us. Please adjust.

  • Boeing 787 vs. Airbus A380 - The Latest Chapter [View article]
The article is correct in the assumption that both Boeing and Airbus are competing for the last strategic advantage in the commercial airliner market. Both companies are managerially disadvantaged, Boeing historically, and Airbus politically. Wouldn't be surprised if neither survived another 20 years because of this. Better companies than them have not survived this market (Douglas, Lockheed, Consolidated, etc).
