Energy Infrastructure MLPs: Among the Very Best High Dividend Stocks

Big thanks to d_teller for tax info on MLPs. I'm a little guy, <1000 UBTI so I guess I'm ok for now. I will be sure to buy any MLPs in non-ira account. Maybe I'll even sell it out of my ira, then buy more in my other acct just to avoid possible complications.

It's definitely EPD (a quick check on stockcharts shows you that).

KMP vs PWE? I'm down some 46% on my PWE, only down 14% on my KMP... so which is more risky? Somehow a 28%yield on the PWE seems too good to be true so maybe something fishy? Note that they just cut their distribution from .34 to .23 for next 2 months, so I hope no one is depending on that dividend.

I'd like more info on how to understand MLP accounting and how to evaluate them. Where can one get comparable payout ratio data? Isn't this a crucial piece of info? They all have very high debt loads.

The yield info often does not take currency exchange rates into account on the Canadian trusts. It's beyond me to figure out exchange rate effects.

re K-1 form: I do aarp volunteer taxes and we were told this year we could do the K-1 forms; so, it can't be too complicated. I gather these should not be in an IRA for some obscure reason. Would like more info on that cuz I have KMP in my ira account.

Ten Missouri Stocks

What is the point of these "Ten ...state... stocks articles? Is one supposed to invest in a stock because it's in a certain state, as in support your local businesses? Doesn't sound like a sound investment strategy to me. This is not useful information.

American Science & Engineering: The Best Offense Is a Good Defense

Bookings are good, backlogs also good; but, sounds like they're not shipping thus billings lag bookings; and you can't get earnings without billings. Lots of generalizations and big-picture-stuff here, but tell me why haven't they increased their sales/earnings more?
