    "Boarders"? Really?
    Nolan is now taking in "boarders" at the Karma project?
    Who knew times had gotten that tough?

  • The Importance Of Rosemont Mine For Silver Wheaton [View article]
    But, whether SLW gets any gold and silver from the Rosemont mine at all depends, not on the demand for PMs in the years ahead, but by the demand for copper and moly.
    The demand for PMs in Asia will have no effect at all on whether the Rosemont mine produces anything or not.

    Don't be sorry. It needs to be said, and in no uncertain terms, just as you have elucidated.

  • Q&A: Kinross Gold Corp. Trouble? Or Could It Double? [View article]
    Whether the Russian mines are near Ukraine or not has nothing to do with anything.

    The point is: if Putin decides to take them over, he will. He saw to it that all the McDonalds restaurants in Moscow was shut down on a pretext. He can do the same to Kupol and Dvoinoye any time he wants to.

    That's the problem.

    Thank you. Reminds me of the classic:

    GOLD! Gold! Gold! Gold!
    Bright and yellow, hard and cold,
    Molten, graven, hammered, and rolled;
    Heavy to get, and light to hold;
    Hoarded, barter’d, bought, and sold,
    Stolen, borrow’d, squandered, doled:
    Spurned by the young, but hugged by the old
    To the very verge of the churchyard mould;
    Price of many a crime untold;
    Gold! Gold! Gold! Gold!
    Good or bad a thousand-fold!
    How widely its agencies vary:
    To save—to ruin—to curse—to bless—
    As even its minted coins express,
    Now stamp’d with the image of Good Queen Bess,
    And now of a bloody Mary.

    Thomas Hood (1799–1845)

  • Will Silver Resume Its Descent? [View article]
    Apparently Adam Hamilton of Zeal is on record as saying to buy silver when the Gold/Silver ratio gets over 55 and sell when it gets down to less than 45. Can't find the reference to pass on to anyone, though.

    I'm curious what is so noteworthy about Royal Bank of Canada, other than its sheer size.

    I do agree. The HUI bottomed last December at about 188 and has started climbing in a couple of tentative steps upward, in complete imitation of what it did starting in Jan 2009 until the top 3 years later. It steadily worked its way up in a steady stream of upward bounces, and appears to be starting the same thing again. When Joe Public catches on, the result will be something to witness, I predict.

    I agree, really. Such an obviously well-managed and basically high-quality situation as PVG suddenly pushed down to $3.00 per share for no valid reason. In hindsight, looks like the buy of the decade at that point. Wish I had realized that at the time, and not just now, in retrospect.
    [sigh!]

    Well, maybe, but there are lots of us who wish we had done just that a year ago, when PVG suddenly dropped from $10. per share to $3. per share in just 2 months. That was the "short" of a lifetime.
    You just never can tell, really.
