There's Plenty of Blame to Go Around

Once organizations became "Too Big To Fail" and implicit government guarantees were perceived to backstop overzealous risks, the market incentives were in place to maximize profits regardless of risk.

Government activities to keep the game going as long as possible merely allowed the problem to grow beyond the point of salvation.

Now we are paying the price for refusing to let those who take foolish risks to fail spectacularly at the earliest opportunity and provide an example for others to avoid.
