    Seems to me the 'turmoil' in currency prices have come about because of the 'actions' of the governments involved. Unlike theories in economic textbooks the markets actually respond to government action. Some like to call the response 'turmoil'.

    If you want a stable price in the monetary realm you should be arguing for a fixed and fully backed international gold standard.
