WHOLEHEARTEDLY AGREE!!!!!!!! All I read on this site a year or two ago was how INTC was DONE! FINISHED OVER!!!! Never to be seen again, another laptop would NEVER be bought. INTC would NEVER be relevant again. Same with AAPL as you mentioned. Oh poor Tim Cook, what a moron, BLAH BLAH BLAH.

It's hilarious actually. Now is the time to load up on WFM - with both hands! BIG TIME. Just wait for all the bullish articles to start appearing soon, upgrades and blah blah blah. Wall street scares you out, buys your shares low and then sells them to you high when you're chasing.

WFM is a buy simply on the fact it's so hated right now

  • Can Altria Save Your Retirement Portfolio? [View article]
I've only been long MO in my Roth IRA since March of 2013. I'm up 20% and it's my second best performer behind FB. I love me some MO!

  • Altria: Should You Still Buy At $38? [View article]
Is MO a buy at $38? I wouldn't buy more here, but that's not a knock on the business. I simply like to buy this high-quality name when it corrects down to the 200 moving day average - which isn't often. I bought more a couple months ago in the $34 range. I'm DRIPing it in my ROTH IRA. My big buys have come around $33 and $34.

However, at some point $38 will represent the 200MA - at that point it'll be a buy:)

  • AT&T: $31.33 Is Magical And It's Near [View article]
Yeah, it would take a broad market correction for that to happen, which is possible. However, this past month has been bad for anyone shorting T at $32

So funny how a lot of people on this thread were talking about T going to $28, $29, even $30. How stupid! Glad for those of us who bought up a bunch at $32 and a hair under. I made big money when I set up an April 34/32 and May 32/31 put spreads when T was trading just under $32. I closed them this week:)

well hopefully your manager didn't buy a FULL position at all-time highs. If not, you've got many options to lower your cost basis and actually get out with a profit.

    1) double down right now, today. Buy at a 3.3% yield
    2) when the stock does reverse and head back toward 40, sell covered calls against your position. You can either slowly get out of your position through assignment, or buy the calls back in when the stock dips and pocket the premium.
    3) be patient, do nothing and reinvest the dividends. This will slowly bring down your cost basis over time
    4) all of the above

    good luck

That's the beauty on days like today when the bottom falls out, the implied volatility drives the premiums way up! Today is the time when you want to be SELLING options

This is a great day to sell ATM or ITM bull put credit spreads. I've got 'em in March, April and May. Once we get the dividend increase $40 will represent a 3% yield.

I'm with you on that, and I hear your point. However, most - not all, but most people who do start smoking - especially in this day and age are uneducated, impoverished people. Again, this is not all people, but look around you - who smokes? All I see are poor, underemployed, undereducated folks puffing away. And lets remember that these people are reproducing MUCH faster than highly-educated, well to do people. So with that line of thinking, there will ALWAYS be someone waiting to buy smokes from MO.

additionally, you can sell covered calls and collect some extra premium ON TOP of the dividend. Not a bad way to play it safe while trucking right along slow and steady
