People's opinions vary Ken. No need to be nasty. I happen to agree with SG. I think Apple will do very well in China, but not as well as people think. The numbers today show they are doing well, but it is yet to be seen just how well. I think Apple stock will go up for a short while, then the fall will start all over again. Just my opinion. In a week or two, we will see if I'm right or wrong. Who knows!??!

It is quite possible they will beat estimates and the stock will go up today. I don't think this will happen, but it might. But even if it does, it will be short lived, and will start falling again. More competition, prices too high, poor development practices, stealing patents, etc. All this will cause the stock to drop. It's not a matter of investor confidence, it's a matter of the stock being too high because of all these other factors.

If Apple wants to penetrate the developing countries, they will have to lower their prices substantially. RIM is beating the pants off Apple in those countries because they sell great phone for a none gouging price. Apple gouges, and these people spend their money very prudently (unlike in the US). China will sell a lot of iPhones, but nowhere near what people are expecting. Knock offs are preferred by many, and Android and BB phones are also big sellers. I can see Apple stock dropping to the $400's pretty easily.

I had an iPhone but hated it with a passion. I now have an Android Motorola Atrix, and absolutely love it. I wouldn't go back to iOS if you paid me to. The Android phones are functionally superior to the iPhone in almost every way. I don't find them riddled with issues anymore. Maybe early on, but not now. iOS has just as many issues, and neither are secure like the BB OS's are (and the upcoming QNX smartphones). I don't think Apple will be doing as well from this point forward. People are realizing that they can spend much less and get much more for their money. It will be interesting to see how Apple does the rest of this year. I'm betting on it dropping much more.

Who knows whether Apple (AAPL) is over- or underpriced - different investors can come to different valuations - but after the week it's had (down 6% in three days, and 10% off its high), maybe you should look at paring that position (and considering how much Apple moves major indexes, you may own a lot more than you think).
