Switching to a new OS is a bear, but it's often worth the hassle. I've gone from Commodore 64 -> Atari 400 -> Apple IIe -> DOS 5.0 -> DOS 6.22 -> Windows 3.x -> Win95/98/98B -> Win2000 -> WinXP -> Panther -> Tiger -> Leopard

I just bought a new Mac mini and will be -> Snow Leopard by tomorrow.

You don't like that Windows 7 looks different? Too bad. interfaces evolve. You can't get better if you don't change.

OK, it crashed during setup. BFD. Windows 7 can only be installed as a nuke-and-pave, so I know you didn't lose any settings when it froze. Wipe the drive and start over.

While the total number of these people is as high (or higher) than it ever has been, they now only make up a small percentage of the total market. The computer has gone mainstream. Geeks once ruled the market, but the maturity of the industry outgrew them.

2) Target's online counterpart is Amazon, which already has a functioning Mac sales channel.

If Apple decides to expand it's Store-within-a-store program to other partners it will do it like it's done it so far: a finite number of pilot stores, probably a half dozen. That said, I think the risk/reward ratio would be better to maximize the partnerships they already have and to continue building flagship stores and mall stores before forging new partnerships.
