It's all about the fashion. Yesterday it was Apple. Today it's Samsung. Place your bets on who it'll be tomorrow.

This is what makes Apple irrelevant:

iOS 7 will be WP 8. You can already buy the next generation Apple. It's called a Nokia Lumia.

Nok's already won, it'll just take the market a year or two to notice. (long NOK)

    Y'know...

I would be very tempted at this point if it didn't look to me like *everything* was just about to roll over.

Apple has never been particularly innovative. I challenge you to provide an innovation which Apple introduced. Apple are polishers. They make tech look good and nice to work with... Or at least they did until the iPhone 5.

In the mobile space, innovation has historically come from Nokia. They got a bit complacent a couple of years back but are most definitely back.

This is where you find innovation in the mobile space today:

$100 unsubsidized? In fact, less... $80. Nokia, Samsung can do that no problem.

So can the Chinese though they are government subsidized and effectively product dumping..

Samsung make something like 40 models of smartphone. Once they have started covering their bases they never stop.

Yeah. It was clear from the start that Google had no idea how the mobile phone market worked.

Now they complain about fragmentation and slow firmware updates? The firmware update is on the new model of phone.

The specs you describe are sub $100 phone specs.

The iPhone is a $250 phone which Apple charges $600 for. Well done I say, but it won't last. Sorry, it's all getting commoditised away.

All of the above are slow, and feel it, when you've used something really quick.

This strategy really only works until you become the industry leader. Then people expect you to actually lead...

Apple will fall back to their deserved position following someone else.
