  • eBay's Skype Fiasco: What Were They Thinking? [View article]
"Thinking" has never been an eBay management strong point,
    "Knee jerk" reactions are.

    PS to user 465366,
Thousands upon thousands have lost their "full-time incomes" in the past year or so due to insane polices now in place.
    Please research before posting.

  • eBay: Essential Data [View article]
    The article states:
"A look at the 2009 auction counts show a huge increase in listings."

Please show us the sell through rates!
Diamond sellers, with their sweeheart deals, are flooding the site with goods that go Un-Sold.

    Just more hype & spin.
Where did I put that barf bag?

  • Major Changes Announced by eBay: Part II [View article]
    @eBay+++
"Hey Bob C. eBay washed a lot of pain away in the last few weeks. I'm a happy camper again, flush with Cash. I told you this QTR would be solid."

The mother company is down again YOY, and the shares are starting to fall today. I guess you think Jello is solid too.
    Better sell soon!

Here, for a change, is a true picture of eBay:

  • eBay Q2: PayPal, Skype Growth Offset by Declines at Marketplace Sites [View article]
    eBay!
    Always good for a laugh!
EPS targets keep getting set lower, and lower.
AND then, when they beat the low ball EPS prediction by ONE penny, Donahoe says: We done good!!
    And fools follow.

    What a joke!!

Well eBay+++, here is a copy/paste of my latest (7/09/09) feedback from eBay, believe it or not, I just don't care.

"Wonderful delivery and packaging. Super nice to deal with!!!!"

And here is a copy/paste of my feedback, with my id x'ed out, believe it or not , I just don't care.

And best of all, I just closed another a high dollar deal through eBay, but off eBay. The buyer made an offer of my full asking price by sending me an "Ask the seller a question" with his email address.
Many buyers, excluding you, have wised up to the new , and f'd up eBay.

So much for your failure theory!
So just move along son, and post only of the things that you actually know!

Finally unloaded the old Big Wheels tricycle, eh?
Better hope they don't SNAD you :)

Wake-Up!, I've got 11 yrs on eBay (buying & selling) under my belt, and I would guess that you have several too, but according to the genius eBay+++, we don't know what the hell we are talking about!
    Funny stuff indeed!

Hate to break the news to you but:

  • eBay Search: There's a New Sheriff in Town [View article]
Hope the new sheriff knows how to handle a gun better than eBay's management team.
I'm sure the 'team' members are missing all of their toes by now.

Shoot low sheriff, the're riding shetlands.

  • A Big Change for eBay Sellers: Variation Style Listings  [View article]
    @ Scot Wingo
"For example, imagine you can get your VSL listings parked at the top of BestMatch before your competitors?"

Just another bunch of hoops to jump through because "Best Match" is killing eBay.

eBay appears to promote within the company via biggest suck-ups, and carries that practice over to the market place.

Just how many can be number one on Best Match?

eBay has moved on from putting sellers under stress, to under duress.
Stress is when someone has your b*lls in a vice and threatens to squeeze them.
Duress is when they start squeezing.

  • Cramer's Mad Money - Profits of Doom (6/9/09) [View article]
    PS:
I joined eBay in 1997, and back then a members id was their email address.
I never had a problem, and didn't pick a "user name" until forced to do so.
A couple of my early feedbacks came from sellers that I furnished info to about their item, to help it sell better.
Any member could leave another member feedback, good or bad, even with no bidding or transaction taking place.

  • Cramer's Mad Money - Profits of Doom (6/9/09) [View article]
    Patricia and Philip,
Don't know if this will help settle the issue, but here is a link from Jan. 2007 about SMI's, with a link for FAQ's.

    www2.ebay.com/aw/core/...

    I really liked the statement:
"I'd like to acknowledge the concerns we've heard from some members who believe these changes may encourage shill bidding (the act of using friends or alias User IDs to bid on a seller's own listing to artificially increase the bidding level.) First, let me make it very clear that shill bidding is not tolerated on eBay."

  • Cramer's Mad Money - Profits of Doom (6/9/09) [View article]
"Many expect a decline in eBay's stock price and cite CEO John Donahoe as the cause of Ebay's problems. Cramer disagrees, and thinks Donahoe inherited a world of problems from predecessor Meg Whitman."

This shows that Cramer does Not do his homework, and is Not to be trusted.
Donahoe has created most of eBay's current problems with fee increases and insane policies.
