Simply out of interest I've been following this item on eBay:

It's a NIB vintage Weber grill.
The seller started it at $139.99 with a But-It-Now of $159.
A person started the bidding, which stops the BIN feature.
The item is currently at $305, with 3 hrs. to go.

Not sure where you've been lately, but for some time now sellers can only leave positive feedback for buyers.

And best of all, I just closed another a high dollar deal through eBay, but off eBay. The buyer made an offer of my full asking price by sending me an "Ask the seller a question" with his email address.
Many buyers, excluding you, have wised up to the new , and f'd up eBay.

So much for your failure theory!

"eBay traffic declined in April and May 2009 both consecutively and year-over-year, according to data provided by Nielsen. eBay page views fell 6.8% in April 2009 compared to the previous month, and dropped another 7.9% in May 2009. eBay page views for May 2009 were down 32% from a year ago and were down 40% from four years ago in May 2005."

Guess what Cetin, it was the "little guy" that built eBay into an
e-commerce giant.
And since eBay has turned its back on the "little guy" it is failing, big time.

Smart, mature people would not do what eBay has done.

PS: I had to chuckle at your reference to Amazon as "the river"
To those that don't know, on eBay's forums one must refer to Amazon as the river, Bonanzle as the ranch, etc
If not, eBay will find these keywords and pull your post, and perhaps your posting privileges.
Paranoia from a company as large as eBay is just plain fun to watch!
