Amazon, Netflix Lead in E-Commerce Customer Satisfaction [View article]
Wide Moat asks: "So what does this survey measure in Ebay's case--buyers, sellers, or both? If buyers, which makes the most sense, why would seller defections affect customer satisfaction? Also, what does it mean that auctions have lost some of their luster?"
Many of the best, and most honest sellers, myself included, have chosen to not sell on eBay due to high fees, poor policies, etc, etc.
I haven't sold there since last summer, and I have 100% positive feedback, and high DSR ratings.
I suspect that many of the newer sellers do not have the customer service experience, and proper packing methods.
Plus, the Diamond sellers have tons of negative feedbacks, but eBay allows them to keep selling due to volume, and what appears to be a bit of manipulating to keep their numbers up.
And as far as auctions go, eBay has tried to force fixed price (Buy it Now) down the sellers throats.

eBay's sellers theme song from The Sound of Music, The Farewell song
Regretfully they tell us, But firmly they compel us To say goodby to you.
So long, farewell, Auf wiedersehen, good night, I hate to go and leave this pretty sight. So long, farewell, Auf wiedersehen, adieu, Adieu, adieu, to yieu and yieu and yieu.
So long, farewell, Au'voir, auf wiedersehen, I'd like to stay and taste my first champagne So long, farewell, Auf wiedersehen, goodbye, I leave and heave a sigh and say goodbye, Good bye
I'm glad to go, I cannot tell a lie. I flit, I float, I fleetly flee, I fly.
The sun has gone to bed and so must I So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, goodbye, Goodbye, Goodbye, Goodbye!
