Five Reasons Why Newspaper Industry Will Bounce Back

I fail to see any fact to the opinion offered. You cant just have 5 forces in bold and hope they are true. Most dont make much sense.
First in, first out - um, who said this was ever the case. maybe in determining accounting systems.
Big papers took the hit - many small newspapers went out of business and closed their doors. smaller papers are struggling to stay afloat.
Internet contributions - online revenues still dont generate enough revenue to make up for the lost profits of ads in print form...

i dont buy this article at all...

There really isnt much research to support that spending on smartphones will decrease, if anything all arrows point to increased spending on smartphones, yes, even in this current economic crisis. RIMM has grown impressively over the past 4 years, but i think they have so much more room to grow when they penetrate international markets.

with cellphone subsidies not going away anytime soon and the cyclical nature of carrier contracts, there is always a new flood of people needing to upgrade their device. even in economic turmoil, i would guess people are willing to part with $100 to get a new phone (usually after 2 years, your cell phone is done anyways). this isnt about converting smartphone users into flip smartphone users, its about bridging the gap between people who wouldnt normally buy a smartphone because of an unfamiliar form factor.
the new flip from blackberry is one cool phone, well see if the market accepts it - i would guess yes.
