Your article would have more gravitas if it included at least a mention of the role that "Big Labor" has played in the slow bleeding death of the US auto industry. Those bloated legacy pension obligations and sky-high average salaries, more than triple the national average, would have been a good start. Are there any workers on the planet as overpaid and coddled? I like your Mitt Romney idea, but it seems unlikely that those arrogant union bosses would even sit down at the same table with him.

The "future of GM" is NOT in "fuel ecomony", it's future is in making a profit. Unfortunately for Detroit that seems increasingly unlikely and the stock market has already discounted it's likely failure.The only ones crying at GM's funeral will be the United Autoworkers bosses--and the swindled American taxpayer.
