Indian Offshorers: Summary of Recent NASSCOM Analyst Briefing

It is good to note a rather positive picture on the state of the Indian IT services industry. My personal view is that while all the facts stated in Ashish's note are correct, we need to collectively recognize the harsh reality that the hey days of high double digit revenue and profit growth for the Indian IT industry are behind us. One big change that will hit the Indian IT employee population this year is a significant slow down in their percentage salary increases. If companies are not going to make fat margins of the past, it is going to show in the employee paychecks. The US recession is serving as an accelarator to this process of salary increase slowdown.
