Does a Mobile Internet Devices Market Exist? [View article]
Let's have a look at the current situation. If I want something powerful with a large screen, I buy a desktop PC. If I want something to work outside and that fit in a bag, I buy a laptop. If I want something to browse internet and that fit in my pocket, I buy an Iphone. The MIDs you are talking about are too large to replace a phone, and too small to replace a laptop. A mobile device is either to receive information, in which case it can be as small as the Iphone, or to create information, in which case it must be large (13" laptop typically). Do you imagine writing a word document or creating a powerpoint presentation on a 4 to 6"" screen ?
