Some Stocks to Research for the Market Rebound [View article]
Anyone who thinks that relatively nearby drilling off shore (less than 50 miles) or in the Rocky Mtn. Range is going to miss the fat city boat, regardless of who wins the election. Contrary to the sentiments of the experts who regularly comment here, The Rocky Mtn. range and offshore drilling propositions will not go away so quickly this time around, regardless of the "experts" who have to have a building fall on them b4 seeing the light (oxymoron). Solar and all the "green" energy stuff will be worked on but not to the same extent as ....
I have no worries about these stocks whatsoever, regardless of their monstrous precipitous fall from grace. It figures that they were held in great numbers of Mutual Funds, Derivitives, Hedges Funds, etc, etc. and had to be sold to meet other obligational losses. When you are going down and heavily leveraged at the same time you MUST start selling off the good stuff because generally people wait too long to dump losers.....triggers or no triggers. When stocks like Monsanto can fall and other blue chips when they are perfectly healthy companies by ANY standards, the btm. line is PANIC, PANIC, PANIC being the main reason for everything going down.
Einstein and Socialism: Hitting the nail on the head is what you gentlemen have done. I am long on Potash and several other commodity type or "tied to" stocks that have me down 40% before mediocre gains yesterday. The answer to how long does one remain long for this smallish investor is.....until these stocks return to their rightful places at or near the top of the heap...which they will do if for no other reason than they are great companies by any measurement except the volatility and freakish behaviors of the mkt. from time to time. As nearly everyone knows, when you are down a heap on stocks representing excellent management, high profits, good futures, etc. not too smart to sell because once gone, a very real loss has occurred, not just one on paper.
Too many experts, I don't dare sell anything right at the moment. POT, Monsanto, MOS, Mechtel, almost anything having to do with earl (petroleum). No choice but to hang in and wait...hopefully not for a vortex spiraling further downward.

There is no melt down of commodities or anything else in general except financials as a sector. Profit taking every once and a while is he name of the game. This is a particularly weird election year and thus more topsy turvy than ordinary with both major parties lacking a really good candidate. We have a totally respectable old war hero/Senator and a younger than young swarmy word artist who has more flips and flops than a sick Bass out of water.

What makes "DSX Lover" think that 3 billion people starving around the world is going to make an iota of difference to food market prices elsewhere? Where is the logic, past or present in that observation? Where or what are the historical facts to support such a conclusion?
