I am retired from federal civil service. I worked for NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) as a software engineer at Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in Huntsville, AL, from 1971-1998. I was the primary MSFC engineer responsible for monitoring the development of software for the Inertial Upper Stage (IUS) by Boeing Aerospace, Kent, WA. and Martin-Marietta Corp. The IUS was used successfully for several NASA space missions - TDRSS, Ulysses and Galileo planetary missions. For in-house software development, my main duties were in the areas of documentation, software design, and Verification & Validation testing. My main in-house project was the Burst and Transient Source Experiment (BATSE) for the ...More Compton Gamma Ray Observatory. I served in the United States Air Force, for four years during the '60s, as an operator in Electronic Intelligence Operations. My overseas duty stations were in Hof, Germany, and Samsun, Turkey. I was born and grew up in Michigan (Flushing). I graduated from the University of West Florida, Pensacola, FL, in 1970. I enjoy vegetable gardening and spending time with my son and two grandsons who live in Florence, AL. My son is self-employed as a professional photographer. My main areas of interest relative to investing are alternative energy and clean tech.
