  • Don't Be Misled By The High Arbitrage Spread Of The Baker Hughes/Halliburton Deal  [View article]
The deal will go through. No way will the DOJ deny the deal now with oil prices this low and so many companies in the oil business having the possibility of bankruptcy.
Oil prices getting killed only increase the odds of the deal happening. Smart money is long BHI.

Where will ETE and ETP be in six months? Much higher.

  • Will Weatherford's Collapse Kill The Halliburton-Baker Hughes Merger?  [View article]
Betting the deal will not go through is like betting on the Texans to win the Superbowl. The deal may fall apart...and the Texans may win the Superbowl.
However, reality is these are both unlikely.

The fact of the matter remains, most deals are approved.

    Good info. Appreciate the article.

I for one, think the deal goes through. It is just so rare that a deal is blocked. $HAL is currently in talks to sell assets, and that is a sign the deal will commence.

  • Debt Analysis: Is Energy Transfer Equity In Dire Straits?  [View article]
Here are 3 major reasons I believe the ETE dividend is safe & secure, and the stock should be bought here.
First, the CEO of ETE went on CNBC last week for an extensive interview. He assured everyone watching that the company was doing fine and the dividend was nowhere near being in jeopardy at all.
The CEO would not risk looking like a fool, agreeing to go on CNBC and telling the public that the divi was safe if it was actually not. If the dividend was in jeopardy of being cut, the CEO would be in hiding, and not doing interviews, just as the Kinder Morgan CEO was. The CEO of ETE seemed sharp as a tack, confident, and reassuring. Not sure if you saw the interview, but this guy was impressive.

Second, two weeks ago ETE had a significant amount of insider buying. Insiders do not risk their own money unless they see real opportunity there. Insider buying is a very bullish sign.

Third, ETE earnings last quarter were not average, they were very very good.

ETE stock has been pummeled for two reasons, the drastic drop in oil prices, and speculation that ETE could cut their dividend just like Kinder Morgan did. In actuality, ETE is nowhere near the perilous shape Kinder is in. ETE's dvidend is safe. And the price of oil will bottom soon. ETE is Buy here. A strong buy. The dividend is now an amazing 10%!

Do not expect ETE stock to stay this low for long. When there is blood in the water, you can panic sell, or you can buy quality companies at terrific prices.

ETE just had insider buying. Which is a true sign the dividend is safe. And the CEO was just on CNBC last week saying the dividend is safe.
Which means $ETE stock should be bought here.
