  • Gold ETFs - Big Surprise at Tax Time [View article]
If it breathes I think it's precious to the IRS. LOL that word "precious" just made me think of a rather famous fantasy character from the mind of Tolkien.

  • Gold and Silver 'Bubble' Has Long Way to Go [View article]
I agree with your thoughts too. I don't think we anywhere close to a bursting bubble of gold. The debt our country is taking on and the printing of money, let alone the use of that money to buy our own debt is not something that bode's well for the dollar. So I think for now the precious metals are a good place to store the value of ones wealth.

  • Wall Street Breakfast: Must-Know News [View article]
This is crazy. Our free market society was supposed to liquidate these bad banks to begin with. That’s what it does with failed businesses. It’s what keeps the markets strong and thriving. Should have liquidated them to begin with. No business or country for that matter is too big to fail.

What’s too bad is I doubt that the advice of liquidating them will be heeded.

  • Does Gold Beat the DJIA? It Depends [View article]
I agree with many of the comments. A fair number of folk see gold as a long term store of their wealth. It's not a lump of metal that returns dividends like the stocks of some companies. It is an item that holds it's monetary value over time and performs it's task when needed.

  • Is Gold on a Deflationary Death Watch? [View article]
Great article. Well thought out and argued, Justice.

You last point about the ups and downs of the gold market are dead on.

I tend to think that silver is another to work at accumulating over time.

  • U.S. Debt Default, Dollar Collapse Altogether Likely [View article]
It's hard not to look at the debt that the dollar is carrying and the trillions in debt that the government is borrowing/robbing from future generations and think that the dollar is ok.

It's looking like toast as one other commenter noted. It's not end of the world stuff we're talking here. It's just "cover yourself" talk. Be prepared.

  • Despite Falling Price of Gold, Mines Still Profitable - Dundee Securities Analyst [View article]
This is good news. I been seeing that a number of mining companies are well positioned in cash and now with the lower fuel costs they appear well leveraged to make it through what to many is going to be a difficult economic season.

  • Ignore the Hype - Gold as Currency is Dead [View article]
I'm going to agree with oldgoldbug and several others. Gold is a means of savings that people can draw upon during difficult times. Is it currency? No, thanks to big government. But it is a commodity. It does hold value and so can be exchanged for currency.

  • Expecting Epic Gains in Gold Miners [View article]
I think that being "patient" is indeed the key here. The way the current market is playing and the sheer amount of fiat money that the FED is pumping into the street over the next few months is going to have an effect in the long term that will be bad for the dollar which should, if we can keep out of Marxist/Socialist ideologies in the market very well could lead to, as you say, "epic gains".

  • Gold Miners: Amazingly Cheap [View article]
I'm with you on the FED money flooding the market. That will lead to inflation in the not too distant future - I'm looking at 12 months - and then gold (real gold) will have some great value.

  • Why Are Investors Returning to the Dollar? [View article]
That's a good point. I think it's definitely a factor for some investors.

  • Why Are Investors Returning to the Dollar? [View article]
Good article and explanation on the current strength of the dollar. It echoes other explanations I've been reading and hearing from others.

Like you I don't see it able to sustain itself as it is so much built by emotion and emotion burns out and reality settles in the aftermath.

  • Countdown of Manipulated Gold Price Running Out  [View article]
I think Gold is low in part because of the paper/real gold argument put forth, but also because the markets typically take some time for things to work through the proverbial digestive system. It'll take 12 to 36 months for the printing of extra fiat currencies to work their way through the systems and therefore the inflation numbers to rocket off this trillion dollar bailout pad.

Getting gold and even silver now, imho, would be a wise thing. Using all your $$$ to do it? No, of course not.
