  • Natural Gas: Not Many Reasons to Own It [View article]
paulito I asked my local Ford dealer this question a few months ago. Fords response..."at this time we are not interested in building a cng vehicle"
    I think this is dumb

    hard to change human behavior!
an object in motion stays in motion
an object at rest stays at rest

I plan on converting my vehicle to natgas soon.

  • Boeing Makes Excuses for Poor Earnings [View article]
labor unions should not run the company. period.
In this recessionary environment the union better wake up. Boeing is going to be one of a select few companies with work going forward.
How about a few stock options for labor workers like home depot did years ago?

  • U.S. Automakers Can't Afford to Overlook Natural Gas Opportunities  [View article]
A few weeks ago, I asked Ford if they were interested in cng. The response was crystal clear. We are not pursuing cng at this time. I sold all my stock the next day and told ford management why.
cng is a great idea. You can put a little fill up station in your garage. The market will add cng gas stations as demand warrants.
I have blamed the unions on the Detroit auto demise, but management stupidity is also to blame

  • Volatility Hedge: Short Boeing, Long on National City [View article]
Andrew, "With a huge order backlog" This sentence tells me that Boeing will be less effected by the coming global recession than most companies. I'm sure there will be some order cancellations, but Boeing has so many orders that the world may be in a global growth mode by the time they are caught up with the backlog. The strike is effecting Boeing currently, but once that is resolved BA is a buy.

  • Are Short Sellers to Blame for the Financial Crisis?  [View article]
Andrew, I like this discloser idea. I have no problems with shorting. But I think the problem is a group of hedgefunds ganging up on a company stock one at a time. What's gonna happen this week?
Hedgie #1 calls hedgie #2 who calls #3. Hey George, It sucks that we can't short the financials,so lets You me and fred mess with GM on monday and Ford on thursday Ba on friday etc........

"The SEC is also considering an emergency order forcing hedge funds, which employ short selling as part of their trading styles that have a $100 million portfolio to report their short positions daily. The implicit threat is: We will know who you are (The SEC already knows about long positions.)."

  • It's Only the End of the Beginning [View article]
social scientist. "And again, inflation would be a good thing". You are correct. The gvt wants to inflate us out of the housing crisis and the debt burden. Eventually inflation will raise the prices of homes to the loan value and we will pay back foreign debt in 1/2 dollars. A great scam if they can pull it off

  • The Test of Wills at Boeing [View article]
Probably not feasible, but wouldn't it be nice if Boeing could hire a bunch of unemployed of auto workers and train them to do the striker jobs.
These unions just do not have a clue about the global economy

  • Political Energy Policy Just for Laughs [View article]
"Natural Gas – This is actually the only energy option which is readily available, relatively clean, and has adequate technology today to support wider use. We could make a pretty good sized dent in imports by converting cars. The economics are currently in place. This would probably need some government and state intervention at the beginning to develop and plan and build an infrastructure. To me this is the best chance for a short to medium term energy source to offset imported oil."

I agree. I am surprised at how little this is mentioned besides tboons adds.
