  • Wall Street Breakfast: Eurozone Economy Weathers Greek Storm [View article]
This Greece thing is looking like a Bill Murray movie (Groundhog Day), that's because Europe will make some sort of accommodation with Athens & all will be wonderful. That is of course until Italy,Spain, & lets throw in Portugal say the same thing as the Greeks. In the U.S. Obama won an election or two by, & this for me was the first time, except of course in Russia & China, making becoming rich was not a good thing. Horatio Alger,Rockefeller,Mell... Dell are all bad names as they had the smarts to do better than their workers & enjoyed the good life. That is while working 90 hour work weeks. Even Mr.. Trump whom I actually can't stand had his Limo waiting at 3:00AM in front of his (at that time)5th Avenue & 61 st. apartment. Obama only had to give out free Obama phones to win all the marbles. His ego & the State of New York motor vehicle sold him plates with his initials on them!

  • I've Added Johnson & Johnson To The IRA For Balance [View article]
Just a question,& I would never say you did wrong as an investor does what he feels is best for himself & not the one recommending. But in telecoms you picked T as the major anchor that pay's $1.88 at 5:42%. I'm looking at VZ at 4:64% & pay's $2.20. If you're holding for income why didn't you take VZ that gives 32 cents more?
Again, I never question why you or any other investor do but isn't it potatoes, potases?

    Thanks for the thoughts

  • ARMOUR Needs To Abandon Defensive Strategy To Turn Things Around [View article]
For me,regretfully, one for five reverse split. This will reduce inventory,& bring the price up to where funds of all kind will buy. Not news, just a fear.

  • Inovio initiates equity offering [View news story]
I hit the 6 instead of the 4 which happened on June 6, 2014. And there is no reason to be an overloaded moron. When you get a personality & maybe even grow up, some of you never do then write in.

  • Inovio initiates equity offering [View news story]
Please explain why not to very long ago we did a reverse 1 for 6 split. I thought that was to reduce the amount of shares on the open market. But now an offering.
Am I looking at this wrong?

  • About Vanguard Natural Resources' New Acquisition [View article]
Casey, I have held LRE long enough to have a break even of $18.75. So this deal up front looks bad but maybe VNR will bring up the price. Just to show good faith I wanted to buy VNR common, but now at least I'll be in the front of the common if they can't do it. I bought the VNR B preferred & while waiting am picking up .1588. It is also selling for $22.96.

Sorry James that you had weather like that. But, if you had driven south to the Dezer auto museum (they used to own all those motels from Miami to Sunny Isles). You wouldn't have that many Hudson's but it was 85 degrees! Oh, & sunny!
    Glad you're home safe.

  • General Electric: Traders May Sell, But Investors Should Hold [View article]
I sold Friday at 3:55 PM all my GE except for 150 shares. I guess I'm just sentimental as after JNJ it's my longest held position. Please write back in two years & see how much of that 50 billion in buybacks will be going for executives bonuses. No special dividend,no increase in the regular dividend, hurray for our side we are loaded with money but not enough in our pocket to buy 100 shares more.

  • Why Chesapeake Energy Is A Buy For The Long Term [View article]
I almost have to laugh. In August of 2009 I bought a position in UNG natural gas for close to $14.00. I bought it for almost the very same reason that you have for CHK, being the demand for gas. Now after two (2) reverse splits I'm down to 25 shares with a break even of $107.00. I really could use a lot less demand! Buying CHK, try to remember BUYER BE WARE, you never now whose touting a stock or why.

  • WSJ: GE near deal to sell "all or part" of $30B real estate portfolio [View news story]
So, by the third quarter Immelt will show an extra 30 Billion on the books, all will bow. The stock will still move like my Gerd & stay between 23-27 bucks. For we loyal investors there will be no raise in the dividend, not even a special dividend. The price will be a given even as we all prey maybe next year.
    But,Hope springs eternal

  • Exploring Investment Grade Baby Bonds [View article]
Thanks for the article. My only real problem is almost the entire list had early call dates in the 20 teens & were selling way above PAR.
Did or do you consider cost at all, or just dividend?

  • Citigroup Selling Global Assets Could Be A Good Thing [View article]
A reverse 1 for 6 split didn't help, a 4 cent early dividend didn't help, do you really think getting out of what makes them different from the BAC's & JPM's is going to help?

  • American Realty Capital Properties: Reorganization Nearing Completion With Dividend To Follow [View article]
Regretfully most every business that Darden has, has been badly run. We might be looking at the wrong end to blame. Darden management as ARCP has been lousy, maybe with new blood on top is the answer? Red Lobster was run so badly they couldn't even sell a lobster & make money. But keep in mind their properties aren't exactly deep in the wood's with no traffic. They are good sizes adequate parking & no matter what happens can be rented or even sold at anytime we are not in an economic downturn.
Please excuse NV. there are those that feel insulting is the correct comment when an argument doesn't come to mind or can be expressed.
