  • mREITs Have Bottomed: Why Investors Should Consider This Dividend King [View article]
In two different accounts I have,MTGE,JMI,NLY,ARR. But most recently I picked up 500 REM. My thought that with the dividend at $1.16 I could get some protection if these common shares fall by themselves & not industry wide. Is this overkill ?

  • GE's Continued Divestitures Provide Investor Upside [View article]
I kind of thought that the 2 Billion was already earmarked for Africa.
Not my kind of investment with Ebola in 5 countries, terror squads both north & south of the Sahara.

  • Does Kinder Morgan's Deal Call MLP Growth Into Question? [View article]
I no longer have any Kinder Morgan products as I was afraid of all of the up's & downs in the segment. I still hold some individual stocks, but I bought the ETF,TPZ which has over 240 thousand shares of KMR. Will this action do anything to my $1.50 dividend that is paid monthly? This is the funds largest holding & will they absorb to new company ? Or just unload & move into something else ? My concern is the monthly dividend as I have no emotional ties to any stock.

  • General Electric Finally Selling Its Appliance Business [View article]
Let me get this piece & previous articles in the last couple of weeks right. Jeff. is selling the appliance business for 2 billion. And because he is so thrilled with the President, whom I guess gave him excellent investing advice is putting that or a similar 2 billion in Africa. Which means that me & my almost 1000 shares that I have held onto forever will get nothing, nada, zilch, & in maybe three years hopefully long after he is gone, the new CEO will announce that GE is departing the Africa investment, because they aren't making money, terrorist's,& everything that can happen to an investment has happened. It's really getting harder & harder to hang tough.

  • Pebblebrook Hotel Trust - A Luxury Brand To Consider [View article]
Sorry Brad, but if you invest in the Trump name, whether buying a Condo in Fort Lauderdale, or buying a Trump product(I owned many years ago Trump Hotel & Casino)! You have to get burned.
I used to do the Money show, & the Gitlers (Forgive the spelling) are a great couple & run a wonderful show. The Drake is an oldie but goodie, but I'm prejudiced as San Francisco is one of our favorite cities.
Remember,if you get into bed with Trump, you just might get fleas.

  • Should You Short Whole Foods Market Going Into Earnings? [View article]
I don't do options, but before I would short this stock, I'd think that it may go the other way if Publix makes a bid or in fact announces a buy of WFM ! Many managers of local Publix in my area are thinking in that direction.

  • Can Red Lobster Claw Back Its Once Loyal Customers? [View article]
As a holder of ARCP my first thought was why buy the cow, when your getting the milk for free? ARCP owns the land in prime area's & to buy the renter that at best might not make it.(You can't make a living on just great bisqets!) That capital should, I feel, be used for more quality investment properties.

  • Are Growth Stocks Appropriate For Retirement Portfolios? [View article]
Chuck---Another good piece. But a thought and a question. I'll be 72 in Sept. & when Google went IPO I was offered a 100 shares at the offering of $85.00. The same or better as when AAPL had dropped to $12.00. At what time does a senior citizen stop eating the paper profits & put real food on the table.
Just for laugh my wife who didn't know what aapl did bought 1000 msft. as we then & now use their products. We both laugh at the would've,could've scenario. At least she got some dividends & now it is at all time high's.

  • Is Inovio Undervalued After Positive HPV Therapy Results? [View article]
Thanks for the article William. I have suffered with INO for so long, that I still haven't reached "Break Even" with the reverse split. They have so many coals in the fire, just what is their burn rate? Maybe it's time to have them sell to someone with deeper pockets & not just in bits & pieces.

  • Total Return BDCs For Q3 2014: Part 7 [View article]
BDC---Sorry to be redundant, my Condo is going through a 40 year inspection & I'm on the board. If you know anything about South Florida, you'll understand that the work ethic here is two speeds SLOW & REVERSE ! Sometimes I have to check the mirror by the elevator to see if I put my pants on.
    Thanks for being patient

  • Total Return BDCs For Q3 2014: Part 7 [View article]
Buzz---Are you at all concerned that FDUS is so lightly traded ? I bought it for the $1.52 dividend, but know I'm having just a little buyer's remorse. I have other BDC's in two accounts, but this one just doesn't seem to garner any interest.
