  • AIG Exec Departures: What a Surprise! [View article]
It must be great to sit on the other side of common sense and say, let GM ,Citi, Aig & all the rest go under. Just think, if GM goes under the Fed. will have 40 years of health & death benefits that the company has been paying with government approved contracts. Wall St. has lost 187,000 jobs at least, so who do they think will hire that office boy, secretary, financial printer? Go further & you'll find the garment industry that manufactures in Viet Nam & China. The executives will almost always get work, even if they have to go from their homes in Grenwich,Conn. to Stamford Conn. to get to the hedge funds up there.
Come down here to Florida & drive up U.S.1 from Miami to Palm Beach & see thousands (yes that was thousands) of for sale, for lease, for rent signs. No, not the GM's or AIG's,but the small business who fed the closed companies that used to employ 100-125 workers,or fixed their shoes,or cleaned their suits.
IBM does 71% of there business in other than the US There goes another 5,000 high end workers. Maybe you big shots who are ready to let every company fail will start a multi billion dollars business & hire the back office people, waitress staff & every one of those who were not making millions a year, but just trying to keep home & family together!
    Bernie,
    Thank GOD, retired in Florida

  • Cramer's Stop Trading! Will the Banks Be Nationalized? (1/15/09) [View article]
Isn't it amazing that President Reagan spent billions & billions to destroy Communism in Russia without ever firing a shot. Now our government is spending Trillions to bring Communism, O.K. Socialism to the United States.
Doesn't anybody out there think that if we the investor were offered 10-11% for guaranteed preferred shares that our wonderful country that is the reason Capitalism is the envy of the entire world, except maybe Cuba & North Korea would have paid for mistakes banks & insurance companies made. Of course nobody remembers (especially in Washington) the phrase Redlining that forced these companies to give loans & mortgages to people who should never have been in their own home in the first place? Politicians truly have the shortest memory in our history.
Capitalist or Socialist, what would you rather have in America?
